This might be late for the #MarketFriday by here in my country but I know it's still Friday in other parts of the world. So better late than never I suppose.π
πHey, Market Friday community!π
I hope everyone's healthy and happy! It's been crazy at work π΅ and I haven't been out exploring since my backpacking last month. All those I've recently shared were trips I've had in the past months. I find it hard to look for something to share here, too! Until yesterday when I bumped into these photos in my Google Photos while I was cleaning and sorting some folders to make way for new memories.
And I couldn't help to share this memorable day. I used to be part of the committee handling our company's biggest conference called the National Sales Conference or NASCON. We hold the event annually every February or March. During this event, all Sales and Marketing personnel from all over the Philippines come to our pre-identified venue for a fun learning experience. It's that time of the year we all see each other, hug (before Covid), and bond like the closest friends we had in high school. We, the organizing committee, make sure that the activities lined up won't bore the participants but rather re-ignite the fire within them for another year of full-blown motivation, persistence, and hardwork.
Being part of the organizer could be exhausting. As early as December we already convene with the rest of the organizers and plan every single detail of the event, not leaving a single detail to chance. But I'm grateful that my experience before is now helping me organize other events outside of work. Let's just say I've been exposed to large-scale events management that the smaller ones I handle now are easy peasy.
I could endlessly write about stories of excitement and despair from all five (5) NASCONs I've helped put up but today, I'm sharing the photos I found yesterday. The organizing committee does everything. We don't hire outsider events management team. All members of the organizing committee are from our company only. It could be too much at some point especially when we're doing the event outside of Cebu. We did one in Boracay. Imagine bringing the entire Sales and Marketing team to Boracay and making sure they'll have the best days of their lives, that's an insanely huge responsibility. But we pulled it off, every single time.
Going back, by doing everything, that includes shopping. At the end of our program is a toast
which was usually led by our VP for Sales and Marketing. And of course, what are we going to toast when we don't have wine or any liquor, right? That's how we ended up in S&R, a membership shopping in a warehouse club set-up known for its wide assortment of premium quality imported products. I've been to S&R a couple of times but haven't shopped for wine there until this day.
We had a meeting before we went to S&R so we all went shopping for wine. π We got a huge cart and together, we moved from one aisle to the other looking for the best wine. It's not like we're buying a hundred bottles but we were all there. Lol! Other people shopping inside gave us the look but we didn't care; we were just having fun. In fact, I might have missed what exactly we bought (I do remember it was white wine), but I could clearly recall how fun it was to shop with the rest of the organizing team. We didn't look like we were working, did we?
That's all for now, fellas! It's a looong weekend here in the Philippines. Wishing everyone a relaxing weekend ahead.
