Hope you're well :) After the pandemic, life is back to normal and it seems that everyone is on the go, and I'm no exception. :) However, I still managed to carve out some time for leisurely enjoyment on the weekend when I have days off :)
I posted about The Local Craft Market in William Town a little while back, and I'm going to share my visit to another interested local market here in the western suburbs of Melbourne- Cherry Lake Market :)
Located in a residential area right next to a petrol refinery, Cherry Lake is an artificial lake that provides locals with a beautiful scenic space.
With its location right at the lake, visitors can enjoy views of the tranquil waters while shopping for goods from local farmers and vendors.
A variety of stalls sell fresh produce, secondhand goods, plants, food, drinks, crafts, clothing, colorful fruits and vegetables, and many other delightful items. There wasn't really much I bought, except for Sukin shampoo and body wash since they were so much cheaper comparing to the price at the store. (Sukin is my fav brand of skincare. As I know, it's an Australian-owned business, and has been providing organic and sustainable products to customers. All their products are vegan friendly and free from synthetics, detergents, parabens and animal derivatives. That's the reason why I love their products). I'm still wondering why it's that cheap 🤣
Dogs are also welcome on the premises, and of course; we took our beloved "Jetti Spagetti" with us 😃 and she was beyond excited, lol. She wasn't the only pup there either. There were plenty of other four-legged friends eagerly exploring the surroundings.
We were so glad when seeing Jetti bounced around with joy while greeting and saying "hello" the other dogs as she always does when she goes out- friendly and lovely girl :)
Plus, the lake has a picnic area, built-in BBQ, exercise and children's playground, walking and cycling path or running track which make the location an ideal spot for a family outing.
After a couple hours of browsing through the stalls, we decided to take a walk around the lake. It's been my observation that every time I visit any lake, locals love playing remote small speed boats on the water, along with fishing. :)
As the boat zooms around, its engine roaring and churning up waves of excitement in the water, Jetti barked at it, and eagerly tried to keep up with its movements that she most pulled me into the water, lol. It was an amusing sight to see as the boat continuously races around by remote control.
I really love it as not only does it have an impressive selection of goods, but the atmosphere is also wonderful :) I can't help but take in the lively atmosphere. Everywhere I look there are families out and about with their children which makes the market more than just a place to purchase products; well it's really an ideal place for families to spend time together.
🙂
It was a typical day in Melb. The sky was overcast, but that did not stop us from having an enjoyable outing to the local market and taking a lovely walk around the lake.
Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy your local markets :)
Until next time
