I'm a big fan of Blackpink! Who doesn't love them? I think they're cool and they have the swag.
I've been to 2 of their concerts in Japan. Sadly, they stopped coming when COVID came and now that the world is moving again, post-covid, they skipped Japan in their world tour. It kinda made me sad and even thought of going to Singapore just to watch their concert. LOL
But this post isn't about how big of a fan I am but about the popup store that I found while strolling Miyashita Park in Shibuya last week.
If you happen to read my previous blog about The Other Side Of Shibuya At Night, you'll know where Miyashita Park is and what it is. If you don't know, let me tell you about it.
Miyashita Park is located in Shibuya, a brief 2-mins walk from the station. Upon getting off the train station at the Hachiko exit, cross the street and on the "quieter" side of the tracks, you'll find a massive building. Miyashita Park is the name but it's actually a mall and on the rooftop, there's something special. Can you guess what it is? I'll probably tell you the answer in another post detailing Miyashita Park.
It was an ordinary night and I just happened to kill time so this wasn't my usual route to get takeout at Panda Express on the 3rd floor. Normally I would just take the elevator from the ground floor to the 3rd floor but this time, I took the escalator so I would pass by the 2nd floor. This was where I found this giant Rubik's cube that spells Blackpink.
I was a little curious so upon reading the sign at the bottom, I couldn't help but be intrigued. There's a popup store here!
I found that cube in the south side so I had to walk to the north side. The mall is huge and I had to do some detours (checking shops and taking photos) so it took me a while to find the popup store.
The excitement was building up. Why? I just found another "something" on the 2F grounds, near the area where you could rest and sit while looking at the peasants π people on the street.
I actually thought that the floor I was on was the 1st but it turned out to be the second. I only found it when I was on the footbridge and saw the light from the shop. I found it! I found the store!
Apparently the shop is kind of close at that time. Though there were people who wanted to go inside, the staff didn't let anyone in. I wasn't part of the group the staff was talking to, as I was still in the stairs taking photos (hehe) but from what I understood (pardon my crazy and broken Japanese knowledge), they won't let anyone inside because it's past their opening hours. Also, to go inside, you must have a reservation. And I think at that time, the reservation was already full til they end setting up business here.
So of course, as a fan, I wanted to go inside and spend money on the merch take a closer look on the items for sale. But since no one, including me, could go in, let's just take a look from outside.
Lots of cute merch, including a denim jacket! Wow, perfect for spring!
The popup shop would only be available here in Miyashita Park from April 1 to April 10, only 10 days!
On the glass window, they have this overview of the items for sale. It was April 5 when I went there, and there were a lot of items sold out already!
If I wouldn't mind about budget, I would probably get the hoodie and the denim jacket. The black towel also looks good. And wait, the T-shirt also looks nice. Aaaarghhhh! I might spend a lot if many items were still available and I could go in. LOL
Since there was really no way to get in, and there's no concert in Japan, I'll just be contented with the big photo of the girls in this glass window. They look so pretty and cool and stylish in their pose and photo here!
Apparently you could also get the items in the online store. The link isn't accessible anymore because it's already past the campaign date.
How I wish Blackpink will come back to Japan again! Please do~ Lots of fans are waiting for their concert here~
