Faced with the unstable situation of environmental impact that the planet is going through, it is essential to adopt a strategy of supplying nutrients to crops organically, in this sense, the application of organic products is of utmost importance to increase crop production yields.
▶ The red Californian earthworm (Eisenia foetida) is a biologically simple organism which is the main actor for the elaboration of organic products commonly called vermicompost, providing an alternative within biotechnology for the solution of environmental problems in order to substitute chemical fertilizers that cause environmental impact.

There are worldwide experiences in the application of lumbriculture as an alternative in agricultural production, since humanity is opting to consume more and more natural food, free of chemical products, for example, in Colombia more than 45 organic products are cultivated, of which coffee is the most important by cultivated surface, in second place is white corn, and in third place is mango, followed by oranges, cultivated under sustainable agricultural practices applying the technique of lumbriculture.
In a certain way, the lumbriculture in agricultural production plays a very important role, using it as an alternative to counteract the levels of application of chemical products in the areas of crops, since through this activity good quality organic fertilizers are obtained.
Since they provide better quality properties to the soil, improving its structure, make available the macro and micro-elements that facilitate the roots a better assimilation, in this way, the plants take advantage of it to meet their physiological needs.
Taking this information we can see that the red Californian earthworm we could say that this peculiar animal that manages to process food into macro and micro nutrients that manage to take advantage of the crops that are fertilized with humus also note that apart from being able to take advantage of the dry matter making compost with the Californian earthworm that enriches the soil with nutrients necessary for the crop can be done in liquid form which is used directly by the silver as it is applied as foliar fertilizer for better quality fruit and more fruit per plant.
