Pets are lovely creatures, and I always say everyone who feels comfortable around them should own their own, but some people should stay away from pets as much as they can based on some reasons.

KIDS.
Let's start with talking about the safety of pets around kids. Having a pet around a baby helps a child emotionally, it also contributes to the social growth of the child. On the other hand, however, pets could also be highly dangerous to your kid's health.
You may think you understand your pet very well, but you cannot understand your pet so well to know how they will behave around the child. The emotional and physical well-being of your child needs to be a strong priority.
If you already have a household pet, you do not need to discard the pet, but watch carefully following safety precautions to protect your child.
Children must be seriously kept away from medication and food.
Do not ever leave your child unattended to, especially when you have the likes of cats and dogs in the house.
If you have to leave the room for a minute, do not leave both child and pet together, move out with one of them at hand.
Check through the doors carefully for routes where kids or pets could get through.
There are several allergies that people have to pets, some people are allergic to the saliva, and even others to the hair of pets, and in the case of a baby who cannot speak or tell how they feel, how will one be able to tell if the child is allergic to a pet or not.

OLDER ADULTS.
Owning a pet for an aged adult could serve as a great companion to them, but germs from animals can affect senior adults a lot.
For an older adult, who may not have the required strength to take a pet out for constant exercise then you may want to think twice before getting one for them, as it may mean the pet would end up being obese. If there was a pet in the picture years before that age, it isn't compulsory to discard them, but getting a new one may require a deep second thought. At the end of the day, the benefits and the disadvantages should be appropriately evaluated, and based on personality, a conclusion should be drawn.
Those with a weak immune system.
Having a weak immune system exposes you to the danger of infections that could be gotten from pets. After diagnosis from the hospital, there may be a piece of advice to the patient to give up their pets to avoid getting diseases from the pet. In most cases, those that belong to this category are those who have HIV/AIDS, who just got an organ transplant, who have cirrhosis of the liver, alcohol use disorder, and so on.
Some people may decide to keep their pets for reasons best known to them despite the advice given, but in this case, family members should be aware of the risk involved, and again, constant checks need to be provided to the pets for the presence of any infectious disease. Also, avoid the adoption of wild or exotic animals as they have a high possibility of biting.
Pregnant Women.
Pregnant women also have a high chance of getting infected with the disease spread by pets. Infection from pets may lead to still birth, miscarriage, multiple fetal malformation in the first trimester. In the second trimester, the brain, eyes and other systems of the fets could be affected.
Some hygiene and health care strategy could also help an expecting mother stay with her pet and protect herself and upcoming baby. Good handwashing procedure with soap and hot water is a good way to start, then getting someone to handle the waste and feces of your pet while pregnant will help out a lot too.
Getting a pet is a lot of mental, financial and physical work, so before getting one be sure that you are capable healthwise and in other areas. Will you always remember to feed the pet, clean up after, and play with him/her? These questions are very important. Overall, having a pet is highly beneficial and helpful to both individual and family, but you should consider your health first.
