En esta ocasión quiero compartir con ustedes lo que es una revista científica escolar y las ventajas que estás pueden tener en la adquisición del conocimiento científico.
On this occasion I would like to share with you what a scientific school magazine is and the advantages it can have in the acquisition of scientific knowledge.

Primero que todo, es propicio conocer un poco sobre, ¿Que es una revista científica? Y lo que comúnmente se conoce de ella es que se trata de una publicación periódica, cuyo objetivo principal es dar a conocer nuevos artículos o avances que hay en materia de ciencia, o incluso investigaciones en curso. La importancia de ellas radica básicamente en su papel de dar información, además que representa un registro público que organiza y sistematiza los conocimientos generados, además de actuar como un canal directo y formal del mensaje que se desea transmitir.
Hay algo muy importante que acotar sobre las revistas científicas y es que en ellas actúan mecanismos que intentan garantizar que la información sea correcta e inédita se trata de una revisión por pares, es decir, arbitraje que están dentro de la comunidad científica, con esto la revista alcanza altos niveles de confiabilidad, además que los artículos son los más actuales.
First of all, it is appropriate to know a little about, what is a scientific journal? And what is commonly known about it is that it is a periodical publication, whose main objective is to publicize new articles or advances in science, or even ongoing research. The importance of them lies basically in their role of providing information, in addition to representing a public record that organizes and systematizes the knowledge generated, as well as acting as a direct and formal channel of the message to be transmitted.
There is something very important to point out about scientific journals, and that is that they use mechanisms that try to guarantee that the information is correct and unpublished, i.e., peer review, i.e., arbitration within the scientific community, with this the journal reaches high levels of reliability, and the articles are the most current.
Ahora bien, intentando crear desde muy temprana edad una cultura científica, se encuentran las revistas científicas escolares las cuales buscan ser una técnica de comunicación interna dentro de las instituciones educativas con la finalidad de captar la atención de los estudiantes y en su elaboración pueden participar padres, representantes, profesores y alumnos.
Para incentivar una cultura investigativa y científica, además de salir de la educación tradicional me aboqué a qué los estudiantes de 3er año de educación media general como evaluación final construyeran una revista científica sobre las Ciencias del Movimiento, para ello les suministre ciertas recomendaciones. Para comenzar el propósito de esta revista en particular era comunicar temas relacionados con física, con la finalidad de compartir y debatir conocimientos y a su vez despertar el interés e inquietud de los lectores
Entre las recomendaciones estaba el tamaño, el cual debía ser realizado totalmente a mano y el tamaño de una hoja carta. La portada debía ser impactante, con un título centrado en el tema pero con algo de creatividad (inédito). Al ser una revista escolar, los colores jugaban un papel fundamental así que se les pidió destacar en ello. Jugar con las ilustraciones, las cuales debían ser realizadas a mano, de puño y letras de los estudiantes. Además dentro de la revista uno de los artículos debía ser representado mediante una infografía con la finalidad de usar técnicas diferentes a solo la redacción.
Now, in an attempt to create a scientific culture from a very early age, school scientific magazines are used as an internal communication technique within educational institutions in order to capture the attention of students, and parents, representatives, teachers and students can participate in their elaboration.
In order to encourage an investigative and scientific culture, in addition to leaving the traditional education, I approached the students of 3rd year of general secondary education as a final evaluation to build a scientific magazine on Movement Sciences, for this I provided them with certain recommendations. To begin with, the purpose of this particular magazine was to communicate topics related to physics, with the purpose of sharing and debating knowledge and at the same time to awaken the interest and concern of the readers.
Among the recommendations was the size, which had to be entirely handwritten and the size of a letter sheet. The cover had to be striking, with a title focused on the topic but with some creativity (unpublished). Being a school magazine, colors played a fundamental role so they were asked to emphasize on it. Playing with the illustrations, which had to be handmade, handwritten by the students. In addition, one of the articles in the magazine had to be represented by an infographic in order to use techniques other than just writing.
Las mismas se encontraban constituidas por la portada, en la cual se sugirió poner a volar la imaginación, ya que es la puerta de entrada a él trabajo que con mucho esmero y dedicación hicieron estos jóvenes, la primera página que se visualiza.
The same were constituted by the cover, in which it was suggested to put to fly the imagination, since it is the entrance door to the work that with much care and dedication did these young people, the first page that is visualized.
Después venía una contraportada, también se podía realizar en la parte de atrás, así como cuando vamos a revisar un libro y leemos esa pequeña reseña que se encuentra al final, esa reseña debía aparecer en esta interesante revista.
Then came a back cover, it could also be done on the back, just like when we go to review a book and read that little review at the end, that review was to appear in this interesting magazine.
Continúa la editorial, dónde destacan los autores, son los jóvenes que con esmero y dedicación construyeron esta revista, conjuntamente con la casa editorial la cual es la institución educativa.
The editorial continues, where the authors stand out, they are the young people who with care and dedication built this magazine, together with the publishing house which is the educational institution.
El índice no podía faltar, ya que allí podemos ver en modo de lista el contenido de la revista, además que nos facilita la ubicación del contenido que nos interesa revisar.
The index could not be missing, since there we can see in list mode the contents of the magazine, and it also facilitates the location of the content we are interested in reviewing.
Ya para este momento comenzamos con lo que yo llamo el cuerpo de la revista, comenzando con un artículo de historia, dónde se pretende desarrollar esa evolución que tuvieron esos conceptos a lo largo del tiempo.
At this point we begin with what I call the body of the magazine, starting with a history article, where we intend to develop the evolution of these concepts over time.
También quise incorporar un artículo de farándula, obviamente acá se trata de algo que no supiéramos acerca de los científicos que realizaron contribuciones al tema del movimiento… Por cierto, sabían que Newton era despistado.
I also wanted to incorporate a showbiz article, obviously here it's about something we didn't know about the scientists who made contributions to the subject of motion... By the way, they knew Newton was clueless.
Cómo artículo principal, se iban a desarrollar todos los tópicos de las ciencias del movimiento, mientras que en los demás artículos solo se podía mencionar algo en específico, aquí si había que desarrollar de manera formal todo el contenido.
As the main article, all the topics of the movement sciences were to be developed, while in the other articles only something specific could be mentioned, here it was necessary to formally develop all the content.
Esta revista también cuenta con pasatiempos, sopa de letras, crucigrama, sudoku, entre otros. De igual manera, en forma de caricatura iban a colocar un experimento sencillo que se pueda realizar en casa con materiales de fácil adquisición.
This magazine also has puzzles, word search, crossword puzzle, sudoku, among others. Likewise, in the form of a cartoon they were going to place a simple experiment that can be done at home with easily available materials.
Cómo un apartado un poco más libre, colocarían anuncios publicitarios, allí se colocarían comercios, profesionales, empresas, organizaciones e instituciones que sostienen económicamente la revista; aunque algunos fueron más honestos y colocaron a sus padres jajaja.
As a section a little freer, they would place advertisements, there would be placed businesses, professionals, companies, organizations and institutions that economically support the magazine; although some were more honest and placed their parents hahaha.
Por último, debían colocar mínimo tres libros de referencias bibliográficas, bien sea físicos o digitales. Esto tenía como finalidad crear el hábito de usar libros y dejar un poco el uso de páginas web que en ocasiones no dan la información correcta.
Finally, they had to place at least three bibliographic reference books, either physical or digital. The purpose of this was to create the habit of using books and leave a little bit the use of web pages that sometimes do not give the correct information.
Es importante acotar, que al finalizar la presentación de cada revista se les preguntó a los chicos cómo se sintieron realizando la actividad; la mayoría de ellos resaltaron que primero fue un gran reto, que trabajaron mucho, pero al final les gusto la actividad porque era primera vez que realizaban algo así. Algunos comentaron cuales habían sido sus artículos favoritos los más destacados para los chicos fue deportes, mientras que las niñas dijeron que la farándula y la medicina.
It is important to note that at the end of the presentation of each magazine, the children were asked how they felt doing the activity; most of them emphasized that at first it was a great challenge, that they worked hard, but in the end they liked the activity because it was the first time they had done something like this. Some of them commented on their favorite articles, the most outstanding for the boys was sports, while the girls said show business and medicine.
