Hello, dear friend! How is your day going? Well, permit me to say that I have really missed many interesting publications in this space lately due to my exam. But it won't last long, hopefully, since the semester will be ending soon.

Far from that, I will be sharing with you guys today some interesting facts I gathered concerning the tennis sport, which has become a popular game among all today. It won't be a new thing or surprising to us if I tell you that tennis has come a long way since its beginning, and this sport has captured the hearts of millions worldwide.

How did it all begin—the history of tennis?
You will be amazed after reading about this historical event that brought the tennis sport to our doorsteps today. It is not believed that this sport just appeared out of nowhere. Indeed, something paved the way for the game to come into existence.

According to the history I read, people once used to play games that involved hitting balls to and fro with their hands, fists, and rudimentary tools in the ancient days. So this activity was what brought about the idea of tennis, but then the game was at its starting point. So no big deal.
Moving forward to the medieval era This was when the game began to be called real tennis, but it was meant for the nobility and royals for leisure due to how fancy and sophisticated the game was. They played it indoors on a special court with wooden racquets used for hitting the ball over a netted wall.

When the medieval era passed, the game started to become popular among the people of Europe, where it was spreading like wildfire. The whole population of Europe got acquainted with the game, and it turned out to become a beloved pastime. That was really cool. Just imagine how happy these guys were with this game moving with them with different rules and styles.

Now, let us see how the game was transformed.

Remember, the game had already begun its journey, but there were no setup rules governing the game and, again, no standardised equipment. So anyone can manoeuvre the game the way he likes. And that wasn’t fair enough. As time went on, rules were introduced for the game, and better equipment was acquired too.

Not until lawn tennis was introduced in the 19th century. The tennis game gained more momentum as it attracted a broad audience and was now played on grass courts. This was a big change and a fresh vibe for tennis. Yes, at this point, the need to set up standard rules became effective, and that was how far the tennis game went to become what it is today. The popularity of the game kept waxing, with major tournaments and events coming in, thus giving it an inviting revolution. Some matches and rivalries captured many people's interest.

Technology also had a great impact on the transformation of the game over time. Television and the internet brought the game to our homes in different places, making it easy to watch anywhere.

Today, the game has been globalized. The tennis game is no longer only for nobles and royals, as it was before. It has now reached the nooks and crannies of the world, including places where it wasn’t known before. But we won't fail to appreciate how far technology has pushed this game. Now, fans can easily access the game live on their devices from anywhere. Isn't that amazing?

Many incredible and talented players who have invested in the game with a lasting impact have appeared on the tennis court over the years. I bet you know that! These three notable players—Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic—are always mentioned anytime the history of tennis games is mentioned because they are the greatest players. They won many hearts with their unique skills in the game, as well as many grand slam titles.

The female players are also there and have greatly impacted the game. I won't fail to mention people like Venus Williams, Serena Williams, and Steffi Graf. These women, like the men, are also notable players who have dominated the tennis scene with their skills and determination. I believe they are models for some young women who are into tennis today.
Did I forget to list the iconic moments that have thrilled the fans in the history of tennis? Nay! I am going to do that now. There have been many matches that have been epic battles that have printed unforgettable memories for tennis enthusiasts.

I may not be able to mention all the memorial events that happened, but I think the ‘’Rumble in the Jungle,” which happened between John McEnroe and Wimbledon in 1980, was one of the iconic moments that comes to mind with almost everything. Although I wasn’t there, stories said that this was a competition between two mighty tennis players. Their fierce competition made it one of the greatest matches ever played.

As if that were not enough, there was another interesting one in 2001 called the “Miracle on Grass” This one won the tag—the most heartwarming and unexpected in the history of tennis. It happened when Gora, a wild card entry, won Wimbledon that year!

These and many more will always bring exciting feelings to our lives. The tennis game has a rich history attached to it, with many inviting opportunities and endless possibilities. So let's embrace the magic of tennis together, whether you are new to the game or have been a fan.
