One of the Clinical conditions which has been most challenging fact to parents, teachers and the general public and all stakeholders concerned is the Learning Deficit or Learning Disorder which sometimes leads to Learning Disability among most people. They come in so many forms base on the field that the person may have that deficit. Their conditions may be described as Mild, Severe or Profound depending on the stage or level at which these clinical conditions have reached. Some of these learning deficits are dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia and aphasia which I would explaining them shortly in summary form.
Dyslexia
The term Dyslexia is a clinical condition in which a person has problem with reading, writing and spelling problems. Such condition is associated with so many factors like nutritional defects, genetic factors as well as environmental factors. Parents can also inhabit the dyslexia if they are exposed to some physical activities which might damage some part of the body. The injury of the nervous system and brain may be affected leading to this, since the nerves and brain have great coordination. A child facing this problem would be academically inclined and to most societies, the problem is that they would be associating this problem with spiritualities instead of seeking for correction from the specialists.
If Dyslexia is genetically base complication is difficult to correct it but if it is such environmental factors such as nutritional deficits and Neurologist can give advice on foods that can be taken to correct the situation.
Dyscalculia
This is learning disability in which the person has problem with mathematics at all stages. The Dyslexic cannot interpret among symbols either being addition (+), multiplication (×), division (÷) or subtraction (-). The person may be slow in capturing mathematical issue in problem solving. Inability to solving angles questions and other simple conversion from one unit to the other. The situation occur in childhood stage and may harm the person's bility to solve mathematical problems. The fact that most people fear mathematics and perform poorly is due to dyscalculia. Persons with dyscalculia may grow with it if not guided.
Dysgraphia
The use of of Gross and fine motor skills are very important in conversion of language into writing. Most of academic development is based of showcasing in writing. A person's ability to effectively use the fine motors and gross motors at his or her children maximizes his potential in learning most subjects and other languages. A condition where the person find it challenge to use the fingers, hands and wrists to write is affected with the situation called dysgraphia. deformity of some of the gross and fine motor skills can cause a person to be affected by dysgraphia
Aphasia
A child's in ability to communicate well increases his or her potentials in life. Aphasia is therefore learning deficit where the person has problem with communication. The organ for sound production is affected. In this case, the person cannot express himself or herself in communication and hence his or her desired for many things is hindered. The causes might be severe brain and nerves injury of some genetically and hormonal imbalances which developed during the prenatal stage. The Neurologist specialists can explain more and give more advice on people with Aphasia. There are a lot of complications that that mothers whose babies might have gone through such conditions have experienced before birth.
What to do about Learning Disability?
The situation of Learning deficits need all stakeholders for the correction. In this case, we advice parents whose children are affected to seek for immediate advice and treatment. The Neurologist is the specialist who can be sought for any advice Incase you see any abnormalities of your wards. We also have other specialists like school counsellors in case we see any abnormalities, but the Neurologist has to be contacted first so that he can direct you to see the counselor incase there is any situation in such manner. We also advice parents to report any situation they find on their wards immediately at hospital for remedy and action taken before it gets out of hand.
