We all know that fungi play an important role in our system, fungi are the cleaner that God provide on planet earth, they are saprophytic in nature.
Fungi are everywhere in very large numbers, they are found in the soil, air, lakes, rivers, and sea on within plants and animals, in food and clothing, and in the human body fungi are responsible for breaking down of organic matter and releasing carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen and phosphorus into the soil and the atmosphere.

Fungi are essential to many household and
Industrial processes, notably the making of bread, Wine, beer and certain chesses.
Fungi are also used as food: for example, some mushroom, Morels, and truffles are Epicurean delicacies, and mycoproteins. Some mushroom are high in proteins that why even in Africa, Nigeria as a whole some of the mushroom is serve as food.
Fungi are edible and delicious, while others can produce antibacterial compounds. Could you believe penicillin is a mold, which of course is a fungus, one that help billions of people. They can be genetically engineered to produce insulin and other hormones.

Fungi has serve in so many purpose, the one that really dragged my attention is that of pizza. Do you know whenever you eat pizza, you are eating fungi which I never knew that pizza is made up of fungi until when I did this research which me to start with, I don't like pizza I only admire the way it look in the packet. But this topic is so interesting fungi is every day life this mean s, we can't do without fungi. Even the vitamin C we need is made up of fungi as they are the major source of citric acid.

The word fungi is derives from a Latin word "fungus" which means flourish. Which in the original sense was used in referring to mush room which will spring up overnight in it current usage. However, it encompasses a whole array of a chlorophyllous, eukaryotic, thallus forming organism. In the past fungi and bacteria where usually study as belonging to one group. Currently however with incremental scientific evidence It is now obvious that these two group of organism are not the same.
The scientist that study fungi are refers to as Mycologist. Where as mycology is a science that deal with the study of fungi. It must be started however that the science of taxonomy or classification of fungi is not stable yet and may not be stable for sometime. Reason is that some mycologist believed that fungi belong to a kingdom on it own and should not be studied under the kingdom plantae (plant) while other mycologist believed that it is a division or even a subdivision under the kingdom plantae (plant).
Fungi are eukaryotic micro organisms they are filamentous known as Hyphae the collection of hyphae is called mycelium. Generally, fungi are a group of thallophytes
That are lacking chlorophyll. Consequently there are generally heterotrophic in nature and reproduce mainly by spore formation. they are either saprophytes or parasites. The body of fungi is compose of false tissue that is Pseudoparenchyma which is an interwoven mass of fine delicate threads known as hyphae, generally fungi has a cell wall which might be made up of chitin or true cellulose. Fungi is called carbohydrates in the form of glycogen.
They are divided into two broad groups -- yeasts and molds. Yeasts are generally not filamentous but unicellular and avoid or spheroid, which reproduce by budding or fission. Molds are filamentous and found on damp organic materials e.g bread, decaying leather (hang bags, shoes), textiles, woods etc. They are highly degradative.
NUTRITION
Fungi as a chlorophyllous thallophytes and could exist saprophyte and parasite.
Saprophytic fungi, live on decaying animal or vegetative matter and grow usually on a variety of situation thriving under a condition of wath moisture and supply of organic matter. While parasitic fungi in the other hand live as parasite on living plant which could be cultivated and also an animal which could be demonstrated also in human being. Parasitic fungi that pass their entire life on living organisms are called obligatory parasites while those that normally live on living host and may live a saprophytic life are regarded as facultative parasite.
SUMMARY
• Humans uses fungi for many Purposes, including preparation of food.
• Humans uses fungi as pest control
• In addition, fungi can be used to produce citric acid, antibiotics and human hormones.
•fungi are seen as models research organisms.
This is were we will rape it up for today.
Thank you for your time.
keep engaging my blog for more of it.
This is actually my first post here.
