To the best of my knowledge, the factors to be considered in the choice of which type of nutrition to follow are the different health conditions of Patients eg prematurity, malnutrition, inability to eat or tolerate food due to poor appetite or other underlying health conditions etc, the financial strength of the individual etc these are some of the factors which could determine the choice of the nutrition.
It is the responsibility of the health team to decide which nutrition a patient should benefit from, but it's still the right of the patient or relatives to either accept or decline as they wish.
