The war of the future has already begun and this time the soldiers bleed us, because the People's Liberation Army of China presented a new type of attack force composed of quadruped robots, nicknamed, “mechanical wolves” that act together with autonomous combat drones.

During a military exercise held on October 4, the country demonstrated the coordinated use of these machines in a simulation of an invasion of Taiwan and the result impressed even the most skeptical analysts, the enemy defenses were neutralized in less than 10 seconds.

The training was the first public demonstration of ground robberies with attack autonomy and coordination on the battlefield, these 70 kg quadrupeds can carry up to 20 kg of supplies and operate in both logistical and offensive modes.

Images released by CCTV showed the robots running along the beach in front of the human troops, opening a path, removing obstacles and serving as support for FPB drones that self-destruct by attacking fortifications. And in one of the scenes, a single soldier simultaneously controlled nine robots and six drones through a 3D interface in real time, a portrait of the so-called intelligent war, the central concept of the new Chinese doctrine.

This tactic replaces old human solas with intelligent maritime tactics, where each machine acts as part of an autonomous swarm, reducing the time to detect and destroy a target to less than 10 seconds. The robberies are equipped with five cameras for 360º vision, depth sensors and AI-based decision modules, in addition to transportation and recognition, some models are already used for precision shooting in difficult-to-access terrain.

China claims that the combined use of manned and unmanned units quadruples the combat radius of a conventional infantry team.
