Witches have been part of popular culture for centuries. Countless stories revolve around this fascinating female figure. Literature and cinema have been responsible for sculpting various stereotypes. To believe or not to believe. It's up to you to decide.
Do I believe in witches? Do you believe in witches? Maybe if I were asked to give a quick answer, without thinking about it, I would say a resounding No. But everything changes if I am asked to give a quick answer. But everything changes if I am asked to think about my answer. And the fact is that my concept of a witch may be very different from the one established in the popular imagination. I don't believe in those witches with magical powers. Of course witchcraft exists because there are many people who believe in it. Now, that a high percentage of people have these beliefs does not mean that it is true. There are people who believe that the earth is flat when it is not true. At least in my reality I don't believe in witchcraft rites and I have witnessed some.
I don't believe in their supernatural powers, but they do exist. Chill Zone moderators are all witches with the magical power to seduce. So beware. If they believe in witches, you will fall into their nets, but don't worry, they are not dangerous witches (I think).
Why do I say there are witches? I have known people who believe in witches so much that they attended sessions with witches. In my town they even advertised in the newspapers, where they promised that they would always have their husbands under their feet and subdued. That they would give them fortune, that they would be beautiful. This type of advertisements always caught my attention because they were mostly directed to the female audience, which means that a higher percentage of women believe in witches. Interesting fact.
I remember at one of my old jobs I had a female boss who was a big believer in witchcraft and consulted with a woman who was a witch. She was in a house relatively close to where I lived. That house was very well visited. The witch had many clients. My boss was always bringing cakes, empanadas or anything else for everyone in the office. It was a colleague who alerted me that a witch was visiting and that they were doing some magic ritual with that food to keep us all tame as little lambs. I didn't believe it, but I had to be careful, so after that I didn't eat anything they brought to the office.

¿Creo en las brujas? ¿Cree usted en las brujas? Tal vez si me pidieran que diera una respuesta rápida, sin pensarlo, diría un rotundo No. Pero todo cambia si me piden que dé una respuesta rápida. Pero todo cambia si me piden que piense mi respuesta. Y es que mi concepto de bruja puede ser muy diferente al establecido en el imaginario popular. No creo en esas brujas con poderes mágicos. Por supuesto que la brujería existe porque hay mucha gente que cree en ella. Ahora bien, que un alto porcentaje de personas tengan estas creencias no significa que sea cierto. Hay gente que cree que la tierra es plana cuando no es cierto. Al menos en mi realidad no creo en ritos de brujería y he presenciado algunos.
No creo en sus poderes sobrenaturales, pero existen. Los moderadores de Zona de Escalofrio son todos brujas con el poder mágico de seducir. Así que cuidado. Si creen en brujas, caerás en sus redes, pero no te preocupes, no son brujas peligrosas (creo).
¿Por qué digo que hay brujas? He conocido a personas que creen tanto en las brujas que asistían a sesiones con brujas. En mi ciudad incluso se anunciaban en los periódicos, donde prometían que siempre tendrían a sus maridos bajo sus pies y sometidos. Que les darán fortuna, que serán bellas. Este tipo de anuncios siempre me llamó la atención porque estaban dirigidos en su mayoría al público femenino, lo que significa que un mayor porcentaje de mujeres cree en las brujas. Un dato interesante.
Recuerdo que en uno de mis antiguos trabajos tenía una jefa que creía mucho en la brujería y consultaba con una mujer que era bruja. Estaba en una casa relativamente cerca de donde yo vivía. Esa casa era muy visitada. La bruja tenía muchos clientes. Mi jefe siempre traía pasteles, empanadas o cualquier otra cosa para todos en la oficina. Fue un colega quien me alertó de que una bruja estaba de visita y que hacían algún ritual mágico con esa comida para mantenernos a todos mansos como corderitos. Yo no me lo creo, pero hay que tener cuidado, así que después de aquello no comí nada de lo que traían a la oficina.

Don't believe the image that movies and television propagate. If you want to know if the witch is good or bad, look into her eyes, there you will notice her goodness or evil.
Do they do evil or good? Both are innate in us, so it all depends on the moral values of these witches. It also influences the reasons why people go for consultations with witches and have work done. If these works work, it depends on the beliefs of each individual.
It may happen that they think they are doing good to their client, setting up a work so that the husband or wife does not leave him or her. But by doing that they are restricting the other person's decision and freedom. From my point of view they are doing a harm, but as I said, it depends on the moral principles of the people.
¿Qué aspecto tienen las brujas? Durante mucho tiempo se inculcó en la cultura la imagen de brujas feas, sucias y narigonas. Además, las brujas que pude ver en mi ciudad vivían en casas horribles y eran poco agraciadas físicamente. Hollywood también se encargó de utilizar esa imagen horrible durante muchas décadas. Esto es algo que siempre he cuestionado. La fealdad siempre se asocia con el mal, cuando todos los que somos feos tenemos buen corazón. He conocido a personas muy bellas físicamente pero que son malévolas.
Con el pasar de las decadas esa imagen fea ha cambiado. El cine se ha encargado de modificarla con brujas bellas y físicamente atractivas, ya que son mujeres diabólicas y hermosas que utilizarán todas sus armas de seducción para destruir a los hombres. En todo esto hay una connotación negativa hacia la mujer y que fue utilizada en siglos pasados para matar y someter al pueblo. La llamada Santa Inquisición hizo mucho daño con sus cruzadas contra las brujas. Puedes encontrar mucho material en internet si te interesa este tema.
Respondiendo a la pregunta: las brujas son de apariencia normal. Algunas feas, otras guapas. Algunas con narices grandes, otras con narices chatas, algunas blancas, otras morenas. Algunas delgadas, otras gordas. No te creas la imagen que propagan el cine y la televisión. Si quieres saber si la bruja es buena o mala, mírala a los ojos, ahí notarás su bondad o su maldad.
¿Hacen el mal o el bien? Ambas cosas son innatas en nosotros, así que todo depende de los valores morales de estas brujas. También influye las razones por las que la gente acude a consultas con brujas y se hace trabajos. Que estos trabajos funcionen, ya depende de las creencias de cada individuo.
Puede ocurrir que piensen que están haciendo un bien a su cliente, montando un trabajo para que el marido o la mujer no le abandone. Pero al hacer eso están coartando la decisión y la libertad de la otra persona. Desde mi punto de vista están haciendo un daño, pero como he dicho, depende de los principios morales de las personas.
Witch stories that catch my attention? Many fictional stories. I love pretty witches. Or attractive to me. Beauty is subjective. I don't like those stories with witches on flying broomsticks. I like them like the red witch from Game of Thrones, Melisandre. Although this one was actually already very ugly, that beauty we see is a deception.
Among other fictional stories with witches, one I remember fondly is The Witches of Eastwick. That seductive trio with Pfeiffer falling in love. Also the haunted series, that one I saw as a kid on a TV channel and I could never wiggle my nose like that witch. The Craft is another classic, with those teenage witches that triggered the hormones of a generation. I loved the look of Fairuza Balk, a bad girl. Of the more recent ones, I must name the movie The Witch with Anya Taylor Joy. With a witch who knows very well how to avoid falling into her nets.
Experiences with witches? I have not had close encounters with this type of witches. My experience has been with other types of witches. The ones that don't use concoctions, read cards, or smoke tobacco. I'm talking about the most dangerous ones. Really diabolical witches. Those who have the magical power of seduction and manipulation. A lethal combination for their victims. I have seen powerful people succumb to their designs. Families destroyed by the spell of pleasure imparted by these demonic beings. They absorb everything. Not only your energy, but also your prosperity, your values. They will not rest until they consume you completely and then they will look for another unwary victim.

¿Historias de brujas que me llaman la atención? Muchas historias de ficción. Me encantan las brujas guapas. O atractivas para mí. La belleza es subjetiva. No me gustan esas historias con brujas en escobas voladoras. Me gustan como la bruja roja de Juego de Tronos, Melisandre. Aunque esta en realidad ya era muy fea, esa belleza que vemos es un engaño.
Entre otras historias de ficción con brujas, una que recuerdo con cariño es Las brujas de Eastwick. Ese trío seductor con Pfeiffer enamorándose. También la serie embrujada, esa la vi de niño en un canal de televisión y nunca pude mover la nariz como esa bruja. The Craft es otro clásico, con esas brujas adolescentes que dispararon las hormonas de una generación. Me encantaba la mirada de Fairuza Balk, una chica mala. De las más recientes, debo nombrar la película The Witch con Anya Taylor Joy. Con una bruja que sabe muy bien cómo evitar caer en sus redes.
¿Experiencias con brujas? No he tenido encuentros cercanos con este tipo de brujas. Mi experiencia ha sido con otro tipo de brujas. Las que no usan brebajes, ni leen cartas, ni fuman tabaco. Hablo de las más peligrosas. Brujas realmente diabólicas. Las que tienen el poder mágico de la seducción y la manipulación. Una combinación letal para sus víctimas. He visto a gente poderosa sucumbir a sus designios. Familias destruidas por el hechizo del placer impartido por estos seres demoniacos. Lo absorben todo. No sólo tu energía, sino también tu prosperidad, tus valores. No descansarán hasta consumirte por completo y entonces buscarán otra víctima incauta.
Hay que señalar que estas brujas se dividen en otras categorías. Algunas sólo buscan llenar su vacío existencial. Las hay enfermas de celos. Las posesivas. Otras sólo quieren jugar contigo, hacerte sufrir. Les divierte y les hace sentir una pizca de poder. Incluso los hay que son una combinación de todo esto. Atención: No son sólo mujeres, también pueden ser hombres brujos.
Hasta aquí mi participación en la iniciativa de Zona Escalofrio, creo que me extendi demasiado, me he puesto a pensar en las brujas de la ZDE y estoy viendo turbio... dolor de cabeza... un zumbido en el oído... no, no es la tensión... deben ser esas brujas en un aquelarre virtual que me están hechizando... o es Oscar Prometo por ser un destructor de familias.... ¿Son peligrosas las brujas de la ZDE? ... la curiosidad mata al gato, no me importa caer en sus redes.
