¿Ustedes creyeron que la bruja mayor no participaría en esta iniciativa? ¡Pues se equivocaron! Hoy paso por aquí para responder las preguntas de nuestra iniciativa del mes inspirado en la temática de las Brujas. Ante todo, quiero dejar en claro que todo lo que comento en esta publicación es en base a mi opinión y creencias pues la intención nunca será crear malos entendidos y muchos menos irrespetar a alguien. First of all, I want to make it clear that everything I comment in this publication is based on my opinion and beliefs because the intention will never be to create misunderstandings and much less disrespect someone. Contrario a lo que la industria cinematográfica nos ha hecho creer durante tanto tiempo, no considero que una bruja sea aquella de sombrero y nariz puntiaguda que viaja sobre una escoba y que posee dotes sobrenaturales. En realidad, considero como "bruja" a una persona que sea normal a simple vista pero que pueda ejercer un cierto control de la energía a su alrededor, consciente o inconscientemente, y hace uso de ella bien sea para perjudicar a terceros o favorecerlos de cierta manera. Un ejemplo de esto es el famoso "mal de ojo" que no es más que el producto de una fuerte energía negativa que recibe una persona de alguien que, evidentemente, no le desea cosas muy agradables...pero, ¿a qué me refiero con energía negativa? bueno, en este caso serían celos, envidia, odio.
Contrary to what the movie industry has led us to believe for so long, I do not consider a witch to be a witch with a hat and a pointy nose who rides a broomstick and possesses supernatural gifts. In reality, I consider a "witch" to be a person who is normal to the naked eye but who can exert a certain control of the energy around her, consciously or unconsciously, and makes use of it either to harm others or to favor them in a certain way. An example of this is the famous "evil eye" which is nothing more than the product of a strong negative energy that a person receives from someone who, evidently, does not wish him/her very pleasant things... but, what do I mean by negative energy? well, in this case it would be jealousy, envy, hatred.
Aunque a pesar de hoy en día siguen extiendo especulaciones, este concepto sí ha evolucionado con el transcurrir del tiempo y me atrevo a decir que las sociedades, de cierta manera, maduraron su creencia en este aspecto quizás en parte también por la misma evolución que la humanidad ha tenido. Conocemos la terrible historia de los juicios de Salem, en los cuales murieron muchas mujeres producto de las falsas acusaciones y el extremismo religioso. También conocemos la historia del terrible Rey Jacobo I de Inglaterra, quien en su obsesión por comprobar la existencia de las brujas, estableció que las sospechosas debían de ser lanzarlas al agua con manos y pies atados y si se salían a flote...a la hoguera.
Siempre he creído que quizás muchas mujeres que fueron acusadas erróneamente estaban adelantadas para su época, es decir, muchas eran acusadas por tratar ciertas enfermedades empleando ungüentos a base de plantas, pero si nos detenemos a pensar un momento, actualmente existe la llamada Medicina Natural. En aquellos tiempos a las mujeres no se les permitía ir más allá, no se les permitía ser dueñas del conocimiento y, al parecer, su única función era servirle a su marido y tener hijos. Toda aquella que rompiera con este molde social, se pensaba que estaba poseída por fuerzas oscuras. Entonces, considerando todo esto, ¿el concepto ha cambiado? ¡Claro que sí!

We also know the story of the terrible King James I of England, who in his obsession to prove the existence of witches, established that the suspects should be thrown into the water with their hands and feet tied and if they surfaced...to the stake.
I have always believed that perhaps many women who were wrongly accused were ahead of their time, that is, many were accused of treating certain diseases using herbal ointments, but if we stop to think for a moment, today there is the so-called Natural Medicine. In those times women were not allowed to go further, they were not allowed to be masters of knowledge and, apparently, their only function was to serve their husbands and have children. Anyone who broke this social mold was thought to be possessed by dark forces. So, considering all this, has the concept changed? Of course it has!
Realmente no sé demasiado y, de hecho, debemos de estar claros que casi el 100% de la información que manejamos sobre el tema está basada en la especulación. Sin embargo, sí sé que lo que llamamos brujería (término que en ocasiones me parece que está mal empleado), tiene muchos adeptos alrededor del mundo y las creencias en cuanto al tema varían en una cultura y otra. Por ejemplo, aquí en Venezuela se habla sobre cultos, como la santería, de orígenes africanos y que combina distintas creencias y prácticas. En otras partes del mundo también existen ciertos cultos o prácticas que están relacionadas a la posesión, como la Umbanda practicada en Brasil.

No creo en las brujas de la manera en como se nos ha intentado hacer creer durante muchos años. Realmente en lo que creo firmemente es que siempre existirán personas que desean hacer el bien y el mal y, por supuesto, también creo en las energías. Verán, el ser humano es un ser energético y, de hecho, el Universo entero es un gran campo de energía formado por la vibración de todo lo que existe en él...incluyéndonos a nosotros. En este sentido, siempre existe un intercambio de energía con todo aquello que nos rodea, incluso la misma energía con la que vibran otras personas y que puede llegar a ser positiva o negativa.
I do not believe in witches in the way we have been led to believe for many years. What I really believe strongly in is that there will always be people who wish to do good and evil and, of course, I also believe in energies. You see, the human being is an energetic being and, in fact, the whole Universe is a great field of energy formed by the vibration of everything that exists in it...including us. In this sense, there is always an exchange of energy with everything that surrounds us, even the same energy with which other people vibrate and which can be positive or negative.
Nunca he tenido ningún tipo de experiencia cercana, pero sí he sabido de historias de personas que conozco que han tenido experiencias directas un tanto extrañas. Quizás la más reciente fue la que me comentó una amiga, aunque no sé trata de brujería en el sentido estricto de la palabra, sino esta experiencia está más bien relacionada con "habilidades psíquicas". Verán, la hermana de ella acudió a una señora para que le leyera las cartas pero casi finalizando la sesión la mujer le dice: "dile a tu hermana que deje de ser tan caprichosa, porque si no lo hace lo más probable es que su novio la deje". Y como si de una sentencia se trata...eso ocurrió, mi amiga terminó una relación de años gracias a pequeñas discusiones que se fueron acumulando poco a poco. Claro está que ella no sabía nada de lo de su hermana, la señora y las cartas, sino fue mucho tiempo después de la ruptura que su hermana le confesó aquello.
Por otro lado, mi hermana mayor tuvo también una experiencia similar a esta en donde básicamente lo que "leyeron en sus cartas" ocurrió. Esto a veces hace que me replantee muchas cosas acerca de lo que conocemos y de lo que considerados que puede ser verdad o no. Quizás aunque nos negamos a creerlo, la parapsicología no esté del todo equivocada.

On the other hand, my older sister also had a similar experience to this one where basically what she "read in her letters" happened. This sometimes makes me rethink a lot of things about what we know and what we consider may or may not be true. Perhaps even though we refuse to believe it, parapsychology is not all wrong.
