I had previously shared in the Hive Pets community a post about the cat with no name. It was about a cat that came from the street and little by little we adopted him, but we never got to give him a name. In this post I share with you the case of another cat who visits us frequently. We call him "the yellow one", and although he actually looks rather orange, sometimes he seems to look yellow, and that's how he stayed.
This cat appears to be a stray, although we have seen him at some neighbors' houses. We don't plan to actually adopt this cat and he doesn't seem willing to stay in the house either, but we always leave him some food outside. We consider him part of "the neighborhood". We have noticed that he visits the house looking for food, as the dish dawns empty. He is one of the cats that roams the street where we live, and seems to be the dominant one.
He is quite a large cat, although he doesn't look it in the pictures. Being a "semi stray" he is somewhat robust and strong. He lets himself be petted and carried, but with some caution, unlike other cats in the area that run away from people.
It's common to hear some cats fighting around here, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was this yellow cat defending his territory. Until recently, I had a black cat, who unfortunately passed away. This yellow cat used to visit the house and my black cat would sometimes fight with him, and other times he would let him come in to get some food.
On one of his visits, I took the opportunity to show him some food and take pictures of him. That's where the images in this post came from. He is often seen in the street, and he seems to "control" the territory of several houses, as I have also heard cats fighting in the same yard of my house.
He always goes into the backyard of the house without anyone noticing, although once he even went inside the house. He walked through as if it were his own house, and laid down in the living room for a few minutes before leaving again (see photo at the end).
I think he did this when he saw that my black cat was gone, since my black cat was keeping him at bay. Maybe later I will write about my black cat Tom at Hive Pets. We currently adopted another black cat who is still a puppy and is named "Ro".
The yellow cat's reaction to seeing another black cat in my house was one of disgust. He made a growling noise when I introduced him to the black kitten cat, but he has continued to come over from time to time looking for food. So far he hasn't hurt my new cat, although they will certainly fight in the future for territory.
He has always come walking and coming in through the window, unlike another stray cat who often appears on the roof, but runs away when he sees us. He is quite a sociable cat for a stray. Perhaps he adopted this behavior to get closer and get more food from the houses he visits.
