She has a lot of fur, but particularly in her little ears it is abundant and it is something I really like about her. She looks like a teddy bear. But the mistake is that having such dense fur makes it difficult to inspect the skin and at the bottom of the ear it was almost impossible.
I made the mistake of leaving her like a bear for too long and between the humidity and the dense fur a lesion developed on her little ear. So I already had a problem and I had to solve several doubts, the first step was to know what kind of lesion it was, then I cut the hairs of her little ears.
Now I looked at the lesion and it did not smell bad, nor did it have any discharge, I checked that there was no discharge coming from the ear either, as it is common for dogs to develop otitis when they have lesions in their ears.
I looked for information with my veterinarian and apparently it was a mycosis in the ear, a fungus. And evidently it had a lot to do with the humidity retained by the fur and the heat of the area. It was a lesion with color change, darkened, raised skin and texture changes.
It caused Caraota to itch.
Next was the doctor's recommendation. To follow them I only needed gauze and sterile solution and an antifungal cream.
When you have these lesions it is important to be consistent in treatment because they take time to heal. Caraota was scratching but I didn't think it was from having sick little ears 馃槥.
Treatment
- Clean the ear with gauze and sterile solution (no soaps or other substances).
- Dry the ear well
- Keep this area of the pet free of hair. (Weekly maintenance)
- Apply antifungal cream daily for two weeks.

Tratamiento
- Limpiar la oreja con gasa y soluci贸n est茅ril (sin jabones ni otras sustancias)
- Secar bien la oreja
- Mantener libre de pelitos esa zona de la mascota. (Mantenimiento semanal)
- Aplicar crema antimic贸tica diariamente por dos semanas.
