Oghma ~ The Poet Warrior
Oghma (nicknamed Oggy for short and because he's a cutie pie) has just recently turned five human years old. I can't quite believe it, where did the time go? Oggy is my little handicapped cat although you would never believe it from how he behaves.
He is such a clown and numerous times managed to get into a position that was just ridiculous. When he was tiny, hiding behind pillows and then jumping out and shoving his entire face into shoes were two of his favourite games.
Oghma was a Celtic mythological deity that carried a club, he was also a historian and curator as well as a warrior poet.
Thinking about his name's meaning and his demeanor, I don't think I named him very well unless you consider his feline meowling in the early morning hours of the morning poetic : I certainly don't!
Warrior cat is right though! He seems hell bent on beating up the un-neutered neighbourhood Toms. Ok, ok - scratch that - all the neighborhood Toms are in for trouble if he spots them.
So perhaps his name is half appropriate.
Look at this nutter!
He also had a thing about appropriating furniture that wasn't his. He decided that LL's kiddy chair had infact been designed to make him look especially gangsta (look at the smug look on his face!) and of course the baby cot which was meant to be off limits he thought was bought just for him. LL never took to it so for a while it essentially became his.
Hard to believe this little monkey cat is almost as old as me when he still takes a swipe as my head through the stair risers openings as if we're playing tag, then darts away upstairs and hides behind the couch. Catches me off guard every time. LL has now taken to calling him "Little Scoundrel" which I think is very cute.
He's a Softy too
In the evenings when we settle into bed, he inches up from my stomach until he's outstreched on my chest, purring like a mini V8 engine.
He nuzzles LL and gives me a cold little nosebump to say goodnight, closes his eyes and curls up into a ball, falling fast asleep in minutes.
So darn cute!
