Por mi parte, me encuentro bastante bien, un poco ocupada y agotada por temas de la universidad y bueno, porque me encuentro en un tratamiento muy puntual con mi perrita Zoe el cual requiere de un horario estricto, la verdad había postergado mucho el hecho de escribir sobre este tema ya que fue una noticia que nos cayó como balde de agua fría, pero siento que puede servir para que aquellos amantes de los peluditos estén pendientes a la salud de sus mascotas.
Resulta que hace unos días decidimos mandar a Zoe a la veterinaria encargada de sus baños y cortes de pelo como habitualmente hacemos, sin embargo, esta vez fue diferente ya que en la veterinaria nos pidieron el permiso para hacerle unos exámenes debido a que en su cepillado de dientes tuvo un sangrado, a lo que con gusto accedimos ya que estábamos notando que Zoe estaba un poco baja de peso ya que habían días donde le provocaba la comida pero otros donde no tanto, a parte que se le veía algo desanimada cosa que nos preocupaba bastante, sin embargo, pensábamos que era algo relacionado con su crecimiento o algo pasajero debido a que los perritos suelen aburrirse a veces de su alimento pero para descartar optamos por aceptar a realizarle los exámenes.

It turns out that a few days ago we decided to send Zoe to the vet in charge of her baths and haircuts as we usually do, however, this time it was different because the vet asked us for permission to do some tests because she had a bleeding while brushing her teeth, We gladly agreed since we were noticing that Zoe was a little underweight since there were days where she was provoked by the food but others where not so much, besides she looked a little discouraged which worried us a lot, however, we thought it was something related to her growth or something temporary because puppies tend to get bored sometimes of their food but to rule it out we decided to accept to perform the tests.
Como les dije al inicio fue un balde de agua fría cuando nos dijeron que Zoe tenía la enfermedad Erlichia o mejor conocida, enfermedad de la garrapata que para los que quizá no conocen se debe a cuando una garrapata infectada pica al canino generándole así sangrados incontrolables, fiebre, anemia, desanimo, deshidratación, dolores en sus huesos, entre otros síntomas. Los que más se notaba en Zoe era el desanimo, la falta de apetito y a veces cuando queríamos cargarla para subirla a la cama lloraba como si algo le doliera y pensábamos que sin querer la habíamos lastimado o cargado mal, pero no fue si no hasta después de recibir los exámenes que entendimos a que se debía.

Aunque la veterinaria nos ofreció un tratamiento quisimos mejor conversarlo con la veterinaria de la familia, quien es la que se ha encargado por años de la salud de los perritos de Fer y los de su familia. Cuando tuvimos la cita con ella nos confirmó que Zoe estaba muy baja de peso, presentaba anemia y que bueno, gracias a Dios le hicimos los exámenes rápido y se pudo detectar la enfermedad a tiempo.
Lo que se nos hace raro es que Zoe siempre ha estado al día con sus vacunas y pastillas para la garrapata, pero al parecer en uno de sus paseos por el parque de mascotas al ser un lugar con bastante arena y donde los perritos tienen mucha interacción pudo pegársele una que lastimosamente estaba infectada. Entre el tratamiento que le mando Rosita (la veterinaria familiar) esta el cambio de su comida, así como también el horario y cantidad para dársela, sales para hidratarla, esta tomando pastillas cada 12 horas que créanme, no ha sido nada fácil ya que darle medicina a un perrito es como dársela a un bebé, sale corriendo, se esconde o simplemente cierra la boca como si el mundo dependiera de ello jajaja.

Among the treatment that Rosita (the family veterinarian) sent her is the change of her food, as well as the schedule and quantity to give her, salts to hydrate her, she is taking pills every 12 hours which believe me, has not been easy since giving medicine to a dog is like giving it to a baby, she runs away, hides or simply closes her mouth as if the world depended on it hahaha.
Para que todo funcione se debe seguir al pie de la letra el tratamiento por 21 días de los cuales ya llevamos muchos adelantados y luego de esto tenemos que hacerle otros exámenes para ver si su salud ha mejorado. De verdad que el amor, cuidado y atención hacía nuestra bebé ahora se ha multiplicado x1000, queremos que pronto esté mejor y aunque no nos dijeron nada sobre tener contacto con otros perritos, pues queremos evitar llevarla al parque de mascotas por un tiempo, por lo que hemos optado por darle algunos paseos en el carro con la ventanilla abajo o darle paseos cortos ya que es algo que le gusta mucho y creo que de eso depende también su estado de animo.
De verdad que todo esto nos tiene un poco desanimados a nosotros también ya que considero a ningún papá perruno o gatuno le gusta que sus mascotas estén enfermas, sin embargo, queremos mantenernos positivos en que el tratamiento funcionará.
