Three days ago, we had an unfortunate incident with our dog, Sortario. Like every morning, he wakes up waiting for his food, but something unexpected happened. While he was waiting for his food to be served, he vomited. At the time, I thought it was something he ate that made him sick, but I never thought it was anything more.

Sortario After vomiting, he ate as usual but immediately went to bed to rest. The way he did it didn't seem normal to me. The truth is that after that, he didn't want to eat anymore and he didn't want to walk either. Seeing this behavior, we were very worried at home because Sortario never loses his appetite. Furthermore, I didn't understand why he didn't want to walk.
To take him out to do his business, my husband and I had to carry him, and the truth is, it broke our hearts. We were very saddened, thinking, "We have to take him to the doctor because all of this isn't normal; it's alarming."
There was a moment when I started petting him and looked to see if I noticed anything different about his body, when suddenly I saw his testicle, which was super swollen and hard; it was super big. I was scared. I thought, "This is the end of my puppy!" Or not. This was hard to accept.
We had to take our little dog to the vet, perhaps expecting the worst news, but that day, just hours before we took him in for an exam, Sortario was in better spirits and was already walking again, even though he was obviously not doing well.
The doctor treated him and gave him three injections, one for the Pain, another to reduce inflammation, and a vitamin. A blood test was supposed to be done, but it wasn't possible that day, so we're leaving it for next Monday. That test is super important because the results will tell us if this inflammation is due to an infection or possible cancer.
On Monday in In the morning we'll go back to the vet for an exam, and of course our hope is that this is just an infection and nothing more.
For now, they've prescribed treatment, and Sortario looks much better. He's walking more normally now and has the same voracious appetite as always. 😍 I'll keep you posted on the tests.

Hace tres días tuvimos un episodio lamentable con nuestro perrito Sortario, como todas las mañanas él se levanta pendiente de su comida, pero sucedió algo inesperado, mientras el esperaba que le sirviera su comida, vomitó, en ese momento creí que fue algo que comió y le cayó mal pero nunca pensé que fuese algo más.

Sortario después de haber vomitado comió como de costumbre pero inmediatamente se fue a su cama a descansar y la manera en que lo hizo no me pareció normal, lo cierto es que después de eso, el no quiso comer más y tampoco quería caminar, al ver esta actitud nos preocupamos mucho en casa, porque Sortario nunca pierde el apetito, además no entendía por qué no quería caminar.
Para sacarlo a hacer sus necesidades, mi esposo y yo teníamos que cargarlo y la verdad eso nos tenía el corazón roto, estábamos muy entristecidos pensando hay que llevarlo al médico porque todo esto no es normal, es alarmante.
Hubo un momento en que empecé a hacerle cariño y me puse a mirar a ver si notaba algo diferente en su cuerpo, cuando de repente veo su testículo que estaba super inflamado y duro, estaba super grande, me asusté, ¡pensé este es el final de mi perrito! o no esto era difícil de asimilar.
Tuvimos que llevar a nuestro perrito al veterinario, a lo mejor esperando la peor noticia, pero ese día unas horas antes de llevarlo a que lo examinaran, Sortario estaba de mejor ánimo y ya caminaba de nuevo aunque se le veía que no estaba bien.
La doctora lo atendió, le colocó tres inyecciones, una para el dolor, otra para desinflamar y una vitamina, había que hacerle un examen de sangre, pero ese día no se pudo, así que lo dejamos para el Lunes que viene, ese examen es super importante porque depende del resultado, nos dirán si esta inflamación se debe a una infección a un posible cáncer.
El Lunes en la mañana iremos de nuevo al veterinario para que le hagan su examen y por supuesto nuestra esperanza es que todo esto sea solo una infección y nada más.
Por los momentos le mandaron un tratamiento y Sortario se ve mucho mejor, ya camina más normal y está con el mismo apetito voraz de siempre 😍 ya les estaré informando como salieron los exámenes.
