Dogs are one of the most popular pets for us humans and that has its reason because they are loyal, loving and very good companions. Plus, there are many different breeds of these to choose from, which means there is a dog for everyone.
One of the main reasons people love dogs is because they are extremely loyal animals. They are known to form very close bonds with their owners and often become an important part of the family. In addition, they are often very intelligent animals and can be trained to do a variety of tasks, from accompanying people with disabilities to assisting in rescue operations.
Another reason dogs are so popular as pets is because they are very affectionate. They have a unique way of expressing their affection for their owners, often through licking, jumping and cuddling. There are even studies showing that petting a dog can reduce stress and lower blood pressure.

Los perros son una de las mascotas más populares para nosotros los humanos y eso tiene su razón debido a que son leales, cariñosos y muy buenos compañeros. Además, hay muchas razas diferentes de éstos para elegir, lo que significa que hay un perro para todos.
Una de las principales razones por las que la gente ama a los perros es porque son animales extremadamente leales. Son conocidos por formar vínculos muy estrechos con sus dueños y, a menudo, se convierten en una parte importante de la familia. Además, suelen ser animales muy inteligentes y pueden ser entrenados para hacer una variedad de tareas, desde acompañar a las personas con discapacidades hasta ayudar en operaciones de rescate.
Otra de las razones por las que los perros son tan populares como mascotas es porque son muy cariñosos. Ellos tienen una forma única de expresar su afecto hacia sus dueños, a menudo a través de lamidos, saltos y abrazos. Incluso hay estudios que muestran que acariciar a un perro puede reducir el estrés y disminuir la presión arterial.
Mi perra Cuca/My dog Cuca
Knowing all this about these beautiful animals, how could I not adopt a dog that was abandoned in a desolate place? Today I come to introduce you to the love of my life, Cuca, the dog that has been accompanying me for 7 years and counting. It was back in 2016, on March 16, I was riding my bike and I saw a man throwing a stone in a field. I decide to go to see what it looked like and there I found her, I rescued her without knowing that she would become my heart and my life.
I arrived home very worried, she had mange, parasites and was very skinny, luckily my mom saw with approval that we adopt her and recover her physical condition. I went to the vet around the corner from my house and he, without hesitation, took care of her, without charging me anything, he offered me a free treatment for her mange and parasites, he offered to leave her hospitalized for a few days until she was better and he also promised us that, in due time, the castration would be on his side too.

Sabiendo todo esto sobre estos hermosos animales ¿Cómo no iba a adoptar a una perrita que estaba abandonada en un lugar desolado? Hoy vengo a presentarles al amor de mi vida, Cuca, la perra que me viene acompañando hace 7 años y contando. Fue allá por el año 2016, un 16 de marzo, que iba yo en mi bicicleta y vi a un señor arrojando una piedra a un descampado. Decido ir a ver que se veía y allí la encontré a ella, la rescaté si saber que se convertiría en mi corazón y mi vida.
Llegué a casa super preocupado, tenía sarna, parásitos y estaba muy flaquita, por suerte mi mamá vio con visto bueno que la adoptáramos y recuperemos su estado físico. Me acerqué al veterinario que está a la vuelta de mi casa y él, sin dudarlo la atendió, sin querer cobrarme nada, me ofreció un tratamiento gratuito para su sarna y parásitos, ofreció dejarla internada unos días hasta que estuviera mejor y además nos prometió que, a su debido tiempo, la castración iba de parte de Él también.
The treatment was a success, the vet was able to cure her and she was beautiful, splendid as you can see in the picture. We didn't know her age, but the doctor told me that, looking at her teeth and paws, she could be around 3 months old at that time, that is, she was born in January of that year.
At first we had thought of having her only for transit, and then give her for adoption to a home where they can have her, we already had 2 dogs, but we fell in love so much with the love that this animal gave us that we said "she has to stay", and that's how she became a member of the family.

El tratamiento fue todo un éxito, el veterinario pudo curarla y quedó hermosa, espléndida así como la ven en la foto. Desconocíamos bien su edad, pero el doctor me dijo que, viendo sus dientes y patitas, podía llegar a tener alrededor de 3 meses en ese momento, es decir, que había nacido Enero de ese mismo año.
En un principio habíamos pensado en tenerla de tránsito solamente, para luego darla en adopción a un hogar donde puedan tenerla, nosotros ya teníamos 2 perros, pero nos enamoró tanto el amor que éste animal nos daba que dijimos "se tiene que quedar", y así fue como se convirtió en un miembro más de la familia.

We loved her so much that from the very first day, after her mange was cured, we let her sleep in our beds, although I have to say that my mom didn't like the idea because it filled her bed with hair, I didn't mind and she slept with me almost every night.
In the picture below you will see him sleeping (as almost always) with his best friend Felipe in my sister's bed. Felipe is also a beautiful doggy, but this post doesn't talk about him although I plan to bring one later on telling his story. In the meantime, I leave this picture for you to marvel at the "Yin and Yang" 😂.

Fue tanto el amor que le tuvimos que ya desde el primer día, luego de haberse curado su sarna, la dejamos dormir en nuestras camas, aunque he de decir que a mi mamá no le gustaba mucho la idea porque le llenaba de pelos su cama, a mi no me importaba y dormía conmigo casi todas las noches.
En la foto que van a ver acá abajo está durmiendo (como casi siempre) con su mejor amigo Felipe en la cama de mi hermana. Felipe también es un perrito hermoso, pero éste post no habla sobre Él aunque si tengo pensado traer uno más adelante contando su historia. Mientras tanto, les dejo ésta foto para que se maravillen con el "Yin y el Yang" 😂.
We had to educate her a lot, because being from the street she didn't know any rules. Although we tried, we didn't succeed very well, she keeps asking for food when we are having dinner or lunch at our table. 🤣
That's the same, she is a very greedy dog and loves to eat human food, she also likes her food but she will always prefer what we are eating, we generate a bad habit in her but it is something that can not be avoided, so look at her little face 😅.

Tuvimos que educarla mucho, porque al ser de la calle desconocía de reglas. Aunque a pesar de haber intentado, no lo logramos con mucho éxito, ella sigue pidiendo comida cuando estamos cenando o almorzando en nuestra mesa. 🤣
Eso mismo, es una perra muy glotona y le encanta comer comida de humanos, también le gusta su alimento pero siempre va a preferir lo que nosotros estemos comiendo, generamos un mal hábito en ella pero es algo que no se puede evitar, o sea miren su carita 😅.
Here I am going to share with you some gifs of her first walk. Being so small, I couldn't take her out due to the lack of vaccines by doctor's recommendation, so her walk was much bigger, she must have been almost 1 year old poor thing, but well everything is for her health.
The place was a beautiful square near my house, it is really a beautiful place where there is a lot of green for her to run, play, sniff and have fun. Today it is her favorite place to do all these activities.

Por acá les voy a compartir unos gifs de lo que fue si primer paseo. Al ser tan chiquita, no pude sacarla debido a la falta de vacunas por recomendación del doctor, así que su paseo fue de bastante mas grande, debió haber tenido casi 1 año pobrecita, pero bueno todo sea por su salud.
El lugar fue una plaza hermosa que queda cerca de mi casa, realmente es un lugar bastante bello donde hay mucho verde para que ella pudiera correr, jugar, olfatear y divertirse. Al día de hoy es su lugar preferido para hacer todas éstas actividades.

Dogs are wonderful pets that offer a variety of benefits to their owners, from loyalty and affection to companionship and motivation to exercise. If you are considering adopting a dog, try to make sure it is one rescued from the street and please do not support the sale of animals. Also remember to be willing to provide them with the care and attention they need.
Cuca came into my life as a dog that needed a lot of care, but all that was rewarded with the love she gave me, I don't regret the decision I made at all.

Los perros son mascotas maravillosas que ofrecen una variedad de beneficios a sus dueños, desde la lealtad y el cariño hasta la compañía y la motivación para hacer ejercicio. Si estás considerando adoptar un perro, intenta que sea alguno rescatado de la calle y por favor no apoyes la venta de animales. Recuerda también estar dispuesto a proporcionarles el cuidado y la atención que necesitan.
Cuca llegó a mi vida como una perra que necesitaba mucho cuidado, pero todo eso fue recompensado con el amor que me entregó, no estoy arrepentido para nada de la decisión que tomé.
