Have you ever heard an old expression "You are like a cat and a dog?" This expression is usually used by parents when their children fight. Why was this expression created? Is there something between a cat and a dog that makes them famous for this expression? My fellow Hivers, let's talk about my observation of these two types of pets in our home. We have two situations to talk about.
Here we are in the first situation. Some animals live in abusive and troublesome households. Being abusive can influence these animals. The animals that live there are very likely to be troublesome too.
Why?
Animals naturally defend themselves when their lives are in danger. For example, if a dog senses something that threatens his life he will naturally respond immediately using his fighting instinct by biting his opponent.
If the dog is your only pet, when your neighbor's cat enters your house, the dog will immediately consider him as an enemy.
On the other hand, the cat has a different way of fighting that the dog does not have. When the cat is attacked, the cat will respond immediately using the sharp claws of its feet to slap the dog.
So what do we learn from this? Family members, especially parents, have inevitable times of misunderstanding. What should be done?
If animals can be influenced by bad behavior, how much more are the children in our home? If a couple has a misunderstanding, it is not good for others to see their argument. If parents let their children watch their heated arguments or fights, it will have a far-reaching effect on their personalities. Children from this family are likely to be stubborn, lack self-control, and later become bullies.
As parents, we don't want our children's future to be dark because of this. Therefore, we need to instill a wise and good influence in the minds of our children. If the argument is necessary, the parents should isolate themselves and find a private place to vent all their feelings.
But going back to our pets, is it possible for cats and dogs to live together peacefully?
Yes, it is. This is exactly what we experienced. We have two dogs and a cat. We are showing here a picture of the peaceful company of a cat and dogs sleeping together.
Here we learn that the behavior of animals depends on their environment. This is our experience with our animals. Since they have not seen any violent acts, the animals are kind. Animals can easily sense when people around them are loving. Their minds are peaceful and they can be friendly.
There are even situations where our passion can be imitated by animals. Like our passion for music, because we love the music we play songs with our small radio. The cat has become very fond of music and comes close to the radio when we play songs.
Now let's talk about the second situation. The dog naturally wants to play with another animal such as a cat. There are situations when the dog wants to play with the cat by chasing and barking. But the cat thinks of it as a threat to his life so the cat immediately responds by slapping the dog. Because the dog was hurt, instead of just playing, he wanted to bite the cat.
And the cat will aggressively defend itself. So there was a big fight because of the joke that was misunderstood. What can we learn from this?
As parents, we don't want our children to become hard to befriend because they can't be joked with. There are inevitably people who are natural comedians. Maybe they have a goal to make us laugh but we mistake it for being serious. It is better to teach our children in advance the difference between a joke and a serious one. We don't want our children to be hard to please.
It is better that as parents we practice comedy so that our children can get used to it at home. It will increase their happiness in whatever they have to do. And eventually, they will learn how to do it. Being a comedian is also an effective way to make good friends. We want our children to be friendly as much as possible.
Like a cat and a dog who become close friends even though they have different characters, children can do this as long as they are trained beforehand at home.
That's all for this blog. Thank you for taking the time to read this article.
