Last September in the year 2021 I took a short series of photos of this land tortoise named "Tails", click here to see the last photo session. It has been several moons since the last photo session and it has really grown, although in the photos it is not very noticeable if it has grown, but as we know land tortoises can be very long-lived since they have a slow and leisurely pace of life and their growth is not too fast to say the least.
As I mentioned in the last publication, this turtle is my stepson's pet and I had not taken pictures of him for a long time, I think he is a very photogenic pet. Something that strikes me about Tails is that for a morrocoy he is very sociable, he likes to be close to people and to be honest, as far as I know morrocoys are a bit sullen and are not where there are many people. But Tails is not like that, I have always thought that companion animals in the nexus they forge with the people who have adopted them develop unique behaviors that are part of a language that is only understood by those closest to them.
I have never had a turtle, I don't think I will ever have one, in truth I am more of a cat person, but I think that having a turtle is to have a pet that possibly with proper care and diet can live long, a companion for a lifetime, because as we know turtles are very long-lived and live much longer than other pets. Tails has been the first turtle with which I have had close contact and I find it adorable how they eat and something that is impressive is the appetite they can eat a lot, I feel that we must raise awareness about turtles because if I am not mistaken they are a species that is in danger of extinction and I really hope that this does not happen. It would be something very, very regrettable.

En el pasado mes de septiembre en el año 2021 le tomé una corta serie de fotos a esta tortuga terrestre que tiene por nombre “Tails”, pincha aquí para mirar la pasada sesión de fotos. Ya han pasado varias lunas desde la última sesión de fotos y en verdad ha crecido, aunque en las fotos no se nota demasiado si ha crecido, pero como bien sabemos las tortugas terrestres pueden ser muy longevas ya que tienen un ritmo de vida pausado y lento y su crecimiento no es demasiado rápido que se diga.
Como lo comenté en la pasada publicación, esta tortuga es la mascota de mi hijastro y yo tenía bastante tiempo sin tomarle fotos, creo que es una mascota bastante fotogenica. Algo que me llama la atención de Tails es que para ser un morrocoy es muy sociable, le gusta estar cerca de las personas y siendo honesto, hasta donde sé los morrocoy son medio huraños y no están donde hay muchas personas. Pero Tails no es así, siempre he pensado que los animales de compañía en el nexo que forjan con las personas que le han adoptado desarrollan conductas únicas y que forman parte del lenguaje que solo es entendido por los más cercanos.
Nunca he tenido una tortuga, no creo que llegue a tener una, en verdad soy más de gatos, pero creo que tener una tortuga es tener una mascota que posiblemente con un cuidado y dieta adecuada puede vivir mucho, una compañía para toda una vida, porque como lo sabemos son muy longevas las tortugas y viven mucho más que otras mascotas. Tails ha sido la primera tortuga con la he tenido un contacto cercano y vaya que me parece adorable como comen y algo que es impresionante es el apetito pueden comer mucho, siento que hay que concientizar más sobre las tortugas porque si no me equivoco son una especie que está en peligro de extinción y espero en verdad que eso no llegue a pasar. Sería algo muy muy lamentable.
