Hello, it is a pleasure to stop by and share with you some of the animals that we have at the ranch and that by far are very spectacular.
Have you ever seen a baby peacock? For me it was impressive, especially because of the resemblance they have with the hens' offspring.
In this case, a few weeks ago we had to take 3 newly hatched ones, and take them aside to give them a deeper care.
The reason is that there are some animals, both reptiles and birds, that love chicks, and so we took them to a place where they can be more secure.
These little ones are 3 weeks old. They have already been changing their feather color.
When they are born, they have a gray color that covers their whole body.
But as the days go by, they change little by little the tonalities, gray, brown, black... Until they reach maturity and then we can see the beautiful ones.
The care of them is not so demanding. We buy ration for birds, which is not corn in pieces.
It is a very fine feed mix that allows them to digest easily.
Although they enjoy eating grass - I've seen the older ones do it - by the time they are small, it's better to give them proper food with protein, so they can develop healthy.
In addition to the water we serve them, we add vitamins.
In a few weeks, we will change the food for cracked corn.
What do I find interesting? These little guys are very docile. When they need to be handled, or taken for cleaning, they don't make much noise and stay very quiet.
And so far, it seems to us, or it seems to me, that all 3 are males. Generally, the females are born a little smaller, and these are very big.
As you can see, they have already been developing a small cluster of feathers on top of their head.
It is a very beautiful ornament once it is formed, and I will surely show you a little later.
For me, they are exceptional, of course speaking of their beauty.
Well, their singing is not so beautiful anymore.
And as they are very fearful, and when they hear a very loud sound, they start to make the loud and ugly sound for me haha.
There is a peculiarity, and it is that they are like roosters, because at a certain time in the morning, they start to sing.
But anyway, these are the little peacocks, and they send their greetings.
