Alright here we go let me tell you all about my cat Cleoh and her big tree adventure yesterday..
So it was one of those lazy Saturday afternoons i was just sitting outside our porch scrolling through my phone while Cleoh was doing her usual thing patrolling the yard like she owns the whole place. She’s always been the curious type anything that moves catches her eye in a split second.
That day, it was a super fast little lizard that zipped across the grass and scrambled right up the trunk of our big mango tree. I didn’t even notice at first until I heard all this rustling and looked up and there was Cleoh already halfway up the tree her black and white fur standing out against the green leaves like she was wearing a costume!
I jumped up right away and called her name “Cleoh! Cleoh get down from there!” But does she listen? Of course not! She just kept climbing higher and higher her little paws finding every nook and cranny on the bark like she’d done this a million times before. I swear she was showing off pausing every now and then to look down at me with those big eyes almost like she was saying “Look what i can do!”
By the time she stopped she was way up on this thick branch near the top the one that’s so sturdy even my dad uses it to hang his hammock sometimes. She curled up there like she had found the comfiest bed in the world, stretching out her white belly and letting the breeze ruffle her fur. The tree’s got some bare spots on the lower branches from all her previous climbing attempts she’s been working her way up higher each time since she was a kitten..
I stood there for like twenty minutes just watching her she had look around at the neighbors roofs, then at the hills way off in the distance and even tried to bat at some leaves that were blowing in the wind. Every time i had call her again she had just flick her tail and go back to surveying her “kingdom”.
Finally, after what felt like forever, she decided she was done up there. She carefully made her way down branch by branch slow and steady, like she knew exactly what she was doing. When she reached the ground, she trotted over to me like nothing happened rubbing against my legs and acting like she did not just give me a heart attack!
Now every time we go outside she heads straight for that mango tree, looking up at it like she’s planning her next big climb. I guess once you are queen of the tree you can’t stay away for long!
