Hello friends, today I want to share with you my design for the Hive Pets contest in which we must design a logo or banner allusive to the community. Thinking about how much I love animals, I wanted to participate and thus contribute to this community that is starting. Without further ado, this is the final logo design:
Hola amigos, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi diseño para el concurso de Hive Pets en el cual debemos diseñar un logo o banner alusivo a la comunidad. Pensando en lo mucho que me encantan los animales, quise participar y así aportar a esta comunidad que va iniciando. Sin mas preámbulo, este es el diseño final del logo:
The program I used to create this design was Power Point, it is a very easy to use tool and it is ideal for this type of design. The second thing was to think about which animal or animals I would like to have in the design. I love rabbits, but after trying designs with different animals, I decided to put a dog. The dog par excellence is known to be man's best friend, but I understand perfectly that a pet, no matter what animal it is, can become a member of the family. Looking for free dog images, I got this one in Pixabay and and I loved it.
El programa que utilice para armar este diseño fue Power Point, es una herramienta muy sencilla de utilizar y es ideal para este tipo de diseños. Lo segundo fue pensar en que animal o animales me gustaría que estuviera en el diseño. Yo amo a los conejos, pero luego de probar diseños con diferentes animales, decidí colocar a un perro. El perro por excelencia es conocido por ser el mejor amigo del hombre, pero entiendo perfectamente que una mascota, independientemente del animal que sea, puede convertirse en un miembro más de la familia. Al buscar imágenes gratuitas de perros, me conseguí con una en Pixabay y fue amor a primera vista.
As the image of the dog already has defined colors, the rest of the design was somehow conditioned to the fact that everything could be combined well. At the beginning I had chosen green as the background, it is a color very used in pet stores, but as we are in Hive, I decided to use a dark red background and I really loved the result. The red background highlights the dog and makes it part of the design at the same time.
Como la imagen del perro ya tiene definido colores, el resto del diseño estaba de alguna forma condicionado a que todo pudiera combinarse bien. Al principio había optado por verde de fondo, es un color muy utilizado en tiendas de animales, pero como estamos en Hive, decidí utilizar un rojo oscuro degrado de fondo y la verdad me encanto el resultado. El fondo rojo resalta al perro y lo convierte al mismo tiempo en parte del diseño.
It's time to give shape to the background, as it is a logo, it is advisable to use circular shapes, even if the circular shape is not present. That is, the design can have a circular shape, without explicitly denoting that it is a circle. I chose to denote the circle in the background, this makes the dog have a lot of prominence.
Es momento de darle forma al fondo, como se trata de un logo, es recomendable utilizar formas circulares, aunque la forma circular no este presente. Es decir, el diseño puede tener una forma circular, sin denotar explícitamente que es un círculo. Yo opte por denotar el circulo en el fondo, esto hace que el perro tenga mucho protagonismo.
The moment to select the typography has arrived, the font is extremely important so I looked for a good time for a font that was pleasant to the eye, that did not have any sting, peak or ear at the end of the letter's outline, so that it would not cause distraction in the design and the dog would continue being the center of attention, but I wanted the font to have some additional element so that we would not leave it out. The font I used is called Shiny Signature.
Ha llegado el momento de seleccionar la tipografía, el tipo de letra es sumamente importante así que busque por un buen tiempo algún tipo de letra que fuera agradable a la vista, que no tuviera algún aguijón, pico u oreja al final del trazado de la letra, para que no causara distracción en el diseño y el perro siguiera siendo el centro de atención, pero quise que la letra tuviera algún elemento adicional para que no la dejáramos por fuera. El tipo de letra que utilice se llama Shiny Signature.
Once the design was assembled, I started to move, to give additional touches, to change colors until everything could be right. I decided to add a dog print, to give a different touch to the logo, give it texture and highlight the word pets, since they are the center of attention of this community. The star of the whole thing is the image of the dog, if I didn't find it, the design wouldn't be alive.
Una vez armado el diseño, comencé a mover, dar toques adicionales, cambiar colores hasta que todo pudiera quedar bien. Decidí agregar una huella de perro, para dar toque diferente al logo, darle textura y resalta la palabra mascotas, ya que son ellos el centro de atención de esta comunidad. La estrella de todo es la imagen del perro, sino me fuese encontrado con ella, el diseño no fue tenido vida.
