I found a newborn kitty in my garden! What should I do?

Hi Hive account@hivepets community. This morning, out of nowhere a cat jumped out of my yard. I didn't pay much attention.

A few minutes later I find this newborn puppy. I will not deny them, it causes me to take it in my hands and protect it. But I have participated in days of rescue, deworming, relocation of fauna and taking it is incorrect.

Let me explain: most likely, the mother kitten is looking for a safe place to move her pups. If we intervene and touch the puppy, its mother will not recognize it by smell. If we move it, she won't be able to find it. I'm sharing this with you, because if you ever find yourself in this situation, stick around for a while. Mom kitten needs to leave them for a moment to hunt, drink water, etc. and she moves them to places that she considers safer.

I know we all have the best of intentions, but the chances of her surviving are slim. They need breast milk for at least the first 20 days.

If for some reason the mother kitten doesn't show up and you want to help, take her to the vet or, failing that, look for a lactating cat. There are infant formulas for kittens in many countries, but the care that the kitten requires is much more. A los minutos me encuentro con éste cachorrito recién nacido. No les voy a negar, me provoca tomarlo en mis manos y protegerlo. Pero yo he participado en jornadas de rescate, desparasitación, rehubicación de fauna y tomarlo es incorrecto.

Les explico : lo más probable es que mamá gatita esté buscando un lugar seguro a donde mover sus crías. Si intervenimos y tocamos al cachorro, su mamá no lo vá a reconocer por el olor.

Si lo movemos, ella no lo podrá encontrar. Les comparto ésto, porque si alguna vez se consiguen en ésta situación, quédense cerca un rato. Mamá gatita necesita dejarlos por un momento para cazar, beber agua etc y los va mudando a lugares que ella considere más seguros.

Se que todos tenemos la mejor intención, pero las probabilidades de que sobreviva son muy pocas. Ellos necesitan la leche materna mínimo los 20 primeros días.

Si por alguna razón la mamá gatita no aparece y quieren ayudar, llévenlo/a al veterinario o en su defecto busquen una gata lactante.

Existen fórmulas de leche maternizada para gatitos en muchos países, pero los cuidados qué requiere el gatito son muchos más.

Por ejemplo, los cachorros no pueden regular su temperatura corporal, muchos aún con el mejor de los cuidados, se asfixian por gases o estreñimiento y en el mayor de los casos, parasitósis.
