I have been wanting to write for a long time about this special subject of pets and especially about my little dog, Bacchus. For me pets are wonderful and inspiring so here's my post...
In my house we have a game that consists of every time something "disappears" in the fridge, or less than what was kept or the empty container appears inside the fridge (I hate this) we usually say that it was Dionisio... Dionisio is an imaginary character that I invented to blame him for things that happened in the house and that nobody assumed, for example, the assaults to the fridge. I must emphasize that when those things happen I get very upset and I decided to invent this character to de-stress and make the situation something funny and that people always ask if we name him.
A year ago on Instagram a creativity specialist made a challenge of the creation of the character so with that I made Dionisio's body, face and voice Link here! and then the character was even more special in our lives...

Llevo mucho tiempo queriendo escribir sobre este tema tan especial de las mascotas y en especial sobre mi perrito Baco. Para mí las mascotas son maravillosas e inspiradoras así que aquí va mi post....
En mi casa tenemos un juego que consiste en que cada vez que se "desaparece" algo en la nevera, o aparece menos de lo que se guardó o aparece el envase vacío dentro de la nevera (odio esto) solemos decir que fue Dionisio… Dionisio es un personaje imaginario que inventé para echarle la culpa de las cosas que sucedían en la casa y que nadie asumía, por ejemplo, los asaltos a la nevera. Debo destacar que cuando esas cosas suceden yo me molestó mucho y resolví inventar este personaje para desestresarme y hacer de la situación algo cómico y del que la gente siempre pregunta si lo nombramos.
Hace un año en Instagram un especialista en creatividad hizo un reto de la creación del personaje por lo que con eso le hice cuerpo, cara y voz a Dionisio [Link here!](https://youtu.be/9hDBl8Gl2WM) y pues entonces el personaje era aún más especial en nuestras vidas…
On the other hand, my husband and I had been thinking about having a puppy for several years but we didn't decide because we didn't have enough space (we lived with my mom), almost a year ago we decided to move to an apartment and we concluded that it was time... we started to look for puppies in shelters and other places but nothing really came to consolidate anything, It is there when a neighbor heard us talking about wanting to have a puppy and told us that the mother of her puppy is pregnant again and that if I do not want a puppy from the litter to which we said a resounding YES, as they had not yet been born gave us a chance to accommodate several things in the apartment for their arrival. After a month and a half they called me that I had to go get my puppy, I couldn't control myself because I was so excited and without my husband because he was at his family's house... but obviously, I went to get my puppy... when I saw him, I couldn't believe how happy I was, he was a little brown furry ball that licked me, he fell asleep and also peed on me hahahaha.
Por otro lado, mi esposo y yo habíamos quedado tener un perrito desde hace varios años pero no nos decidimos porque no teníamos espacio suficiente (vivíamos con mi mamá), hace casi un año decidimos mudarnos a un apartamento y pues concluimos que ya era el tiempo… empezamos a buscar cachorros en refugios y en otros sitios pero realmente no llegó a consolidarse nada, es allí cuando una vecina nos escucha hablar de que queremos tener un perrito y nos dice que la mamá de su perrita está embarazada de nuevo y que si no quiero un cachorro de la camada a lo que dijimos un rotundo SÍ, cómo aún no habían nacido nos daba chance de acomodar varias cosas en el apartamento para su llegada. Pasado mes y medio me llaman que debo ir a buscar a mi perrito, no me controlaba de lo emocionada que estaba y sin mi esposo porque él se encontraba en casa de su familia… pero obvio, me fui a buscar a mi perrito… al verlo, no cabía en mí de tan feliz que estaba, era una bolita marrón peluda que me lamió, se quedó dormido y también se orinó encima de mi jajaja

When I arrived immediately I realized that he was very sick, he had fleas and parasites and the first thing we did was to take him immediately to the vet, there they checked him, they sent him medicines and vitamins and gave him a medicine for fleas, when we took him we did it with the warning that he could die or get sick, Fortunately Baco was given all the medicines and after fifteen days of remedies, care and good feeding he was already a naughty and happy puppy, and of course we were too! Bacchus really came into our lives as a gift but it was almost a rescue that fortunately turned out well.
Al llegar inmediatamente me di cuenta que estaba muy enfermito, tenía pulgas y parásitos y lo primero que hicimos fue llevarlo inmediatamente al veterinario, allí lo revisaron, le mandaron medicinas y vitaminas y le dieron una medicina para las pulgas, al llevarnoslo lo hicimos con la advertencia de que podría morir o enfermarse, ya que de verdad estaba muy malito y él era el perrito menor de su camada… Afortunadamente Baco le prestaron todas las medicinas y después de quince días de remedios, cuidados y buena alimentación ya estaba haciendo un perrito travieso y feliz, y por supuesto nosotros también! Realmente Baco llegó a nuestras vidas como un regalo pero casi fue un rescate que afortunadamente salió bien.

Remember the story of my imaginary friend Dionysus? Well that's how it goes...choosing his name was very complicated, it took us almost a week to do it, we started with the typical "Manchitas" "Cuqui" and things like that, then we came up with "Canuto" after the name of the animagus Sirius Black from Harry Potter, I couldn't stop thinking about Dionisio but how could I call a dog Dionisio? It was hard to memorize and call him by his name, so I kept thinking and researching, I went to google and looked up the meaning of Dionysus and it turned out that he was a Greek God of partying, alcohol and sex and he had an alternative name which was "Bacchus", it seemed perfect, all picture for us, it would be a short, strong name and I loved that it represented partying and joy.
¿Recuerdan la historia de mi amigo imaginario Dionisio? Pues por ahí va...escoger su nombre fue muy complicado, nos tomó casi una semana hacerlo, empezamos por los típicos “Manchitas” “Cuqui” y cosas así, luego se nos ocurrió “Canuto” por el nombre del animago Sirius Black de Harry Potter, a mi no me dejaba de dar vueltas Dionisio pero ¿Cómo podía llamar a un perro Dionisio? Era dificil de memorizar y llamarlo por su nombre, así que segui pensando e investigando, me fui a google y busqué el significado de Dionisio y resultó ser que era un Dios griego de la fiesta, el alcohol y el sexo y que tenía un nombre alternativo que era “Baco”, me pareció perfecto, todo cuadro para nosotros, sería un nombre corto, fuerte y me encantaba que representara a la fiesta y la alegría.
Bacchus lives up to his name, he is a very happy, cuddly, active and loves to play and share with us, in fact now that my husband and I work at home he keeps jumping like a rabbit to get attention and brings us (especially me) the balls and a stuffed animal he has had since he was a baby to play with his foot. He also likes to chew on plastic things, small water containers and the toys we have bought him, and of course he likes to chew on us!
Baco haciendo honor a su nombre, es un perrito muy alegre, mimoso, activo y le encanta jugar y compartir con nosotros, de hecho ahora que mi esposo y yo trabajamos en casa se la pasa saltando como conejo para llamar la atención y nos trae (sobretodo a mi) las pelotas y un peluchito que tiene desde bebé para jugar con él con el pie. También le gusta morder cosas de plástico, envases de agua pequeños y los juguetes que le hemos comprado, y por supuesto mordernos a nosotros!

Bacchus in general behaves very well, he doesn't eat shoes or braids but he has a weakness: underwear... it's incredible, but we can't leave the underwear in a bad place, clean or not, if he sees it, he will bite it until he opens holes everywhere, so much that we have already lost at least two clothes each hahaha.
But the funniest thing we think he has done is that when he was 3 months old his food container tipped over and he just didn't know what to do... but you can see it in the following video. Bacchus really makes us happy and laugh all the time.
Baco en general se porta muy bien, no se come los zapatos ni las trenzas pero tiene una debilidad: La ropa interior… es increíble, pero no podemos dejar la ropa interior en mal lugar este limpia o no, si él la ve, él la mordera hasta abrirle huecos por todos lados, tanto que ya hemos perdido al menos dos prendas cada uno jajaja
Pero así lo más gracioso que creemos ha hecho es que cuando tenía 3 meses se le volteó su envase de comida y el simplemente no sabía qué hacer… pero mejor lo ves en el siguiente video. Realmente Baco nos hace felices y reír todo el tiempo.
He usually eats mixed food, that is to say we give him feed and we also supplement with semi raw proteins like beef, chicken, offal and fish, vegetables and fruits allowed, what he loves to eat the most is chicken and cambur but what really drives him crazy is carrots in any presentation that appears to him.
We have also been thinking about changing his diet to the natural B.A.R.F. diet for which we are studying and reading many opinions of veterinarians, of course, we will not make any decision without first consulting your veterinarian.
Usualmente come alimentación mixta, es decir le damos pienso y también complementamos con proteínas semi crudas como carne de res, pollo, vísceras y pescado, vegetales y frutas permitidas, lo que más le encanta comer es pollo y cambur pero lo que verdaderamente lo enloquece es la zanahoria en cualquier presentación que le aparezca.
Hemos estado pensando también cambiar su alimentación a la dieta natural B.A.R.F. para lo que estamos estudiando y leyendo muchas opiniones de veterinarios, por supuesto, no tomaremos ninguna decisión sin antes haber consultado a su veterinario.
As I said in another post, Bacchus showed us in the most beautiful way what unconditional love means, every morning that we see his little black shiny eyes happy that we are his owners is the best thing that can happen to us day by day, that we are raised with morning raids in bed full of caresses and licks and that suddenly they jump to the side to get your attention reminds you that the real world is not through a computer, but there next to him and next to the ones I love.
Como dije en otro post, Baco nos mostró de la forma más hermosa lo que significa el amor incondicional, cada mañana que vemos sus ojitos negros y brillantes feliz de que seamos sus dueños es lo mejor que nos puede pasar día a día, que seamos levantados con incursiones matinales en la cama llenas de caricias y lamidas y que de repente te brinquen a un lado para llamar tu atención te recuerda que el mundo real no es a través de una computadora, sino allí al lado de él y al lado de los que amo.
On the other hand, there is something that even though time goes by and my Baco is no longer there, is making my mom happy, mom has gone through very difficult times for her, with anxiety, depression and above all a lot of fear, Baco is simply changing her, he makes her happy, fills her with tenderness and he is a very faithful doggy, who loves to spend time with her under her blanket or just sleeping at her feet.
Por otro lado, hay algo que aunque pase el tiempo y mi Baco ya no esté, es hacer feliz a mi mamá, mamá ha pasado de unos años para acá tiempos muy difíciles para ella, con ansiedad, depresión y sobretodo mucho miedo, Baco simplemente la está cambiando, la hace feliz, la llena de ternura y el es un perrito muy fiel a ella, que le encanta pasar tiempo con ella debajo de su cobija o simplemente durmiendo en sus pies.
I would really recommend to everyone to have pets, beyond being a tremendous responsibility, with investment of money and time is an experience that I would recommend 1000% that everyone should have.
Love pays with love, and pets know this VERY WELL!
De verdad que le recomendaría a todo el mundo tener mascotas, más allá de ser una tremenda responsabilidad, con inversión de dinero y tiempo es una experiencia que recomendaría al 1000% que todos deben tener.
