When my sister came home from Cebu, Philippines, she brought with her a cute, lovely pet that I used to hate. I hated hamsters before as I instantly think of rats the moment I see them. The size, the face, and the outer covering of their body look the same. And so, I just shrugged its presence while everyone in the house is welcoming Hammy- the newest member of the family.
The first time they met.
My niece was afraid at first that she couldn't even touch it even when my sister persuaded her. She likes to be near Hammy but she doesn't want to touch it. My sister named her Elvis short for.
But I like to call him Hammy as it sounds more clingy and charming.
Elvis's first day at home
Elvis is a gift from my sister's colleague. They named him so because when Elvis was younger, his hairline was the same as that of Elvis Presley. He is a spoiled one as he eats more healthily than us. He likes malunggay leaves and apples. He likes fruits that are juicy and soft.
Like an athlete
Elvis likes to flatter the people around him. He likes to stay on that top part of the glass. It seems like he is figuring out his life. He likes to do tricks. When he's done eating, she would rub her palms like he is getting rid of the crumbs. It looks like he is washing his hands with invisible water.
Contrary to how Hammy is now. Hammy before seems to feel homesick. It was only my sister to whom he is accustomed. The rest of us are new to him so he felt uncomfortable. Maybe he felt like it was only my sister who loves him the most.
Later on, my mom and dad have grown love with Hammy. They shower him with pieces of bread and some yummy veggies and of course water. Hammy feels at home now. And he is part of our family. The newest one.
