I have sad news today. My beautiful betta CuChulainn crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday. :( I'm heartbroken. I thought he would be with me for years.
I thought he was constipated for a couple of days as those were his symptoms - he wouldn't eat, he had a very swollen belly, and he was lethargic, resting in one spot for long periods. Since fasting is what you are supposed to do for constipation (which is common in bettas), I thought he would recover, and was thinking if he didn't by yesterday I would try an Epsom salt bath, which websites say you can do. But when I woke up yesterday, he was already gone. :(
Macha and Sanglainn, the two snails, are doing ok and seem to be enjoying the new mopani wood in the tank.
My plan is to bury CuChulainn in my largest planter and plant sunflowers there in his honor.
I was crying all day yesterday on and off. My poor little guy. RIP my spicy warrior fish friend. 💜🐟 Swim free.
