Recently we had to shift our house and the thing which had bothered me the most was how my cat (dosshu) would adjust there. Our previous flat was on the second floor and dosshu used to hang out outside wherever he wanted. We had a friendly neighborhood where everyone knows him so it was a safe place for him where he can move alone. But now, where we have shifted is on the 5th floor and it is not possible for him to use the stairs. So usually I have to take him using the elevator whenever he wants to go outside. Normally I leave him in our front garden, and after one or two hours, I go again to bring him back. He is a decent cat and never goes outside of his area which is a blessing for me because it is easy for me to trace him back.
Recently, an interesting thing is happening, dosshu started to sit and wait outside of the elevator and whenever he gets the chance, he hops on the elevator all by himself. Some of the flat members already know him so they also help him by showing him his floor. Sometimes our caretaker also helps him by pressing the floor button and dosshu can manage to come all by himself. But still, it is quite risky for him to move like this because he can get stuck there in no time. So I always try to keep an eye on him. Here are some of his photos of how he uses the elevator without any hesitation!
