Cats are unpredictable creatures, aren't they? Well, the first thing that I noticed the moment I woke up this morning was the weird smell. Its smell was on the borderline of weird and foul, which was obviously not a pleasant thing to smell the moment you woke up. I know certain creatures that are possibly responsible for that, but I didn't lash out at them immediately. Being the detective I am, I decided to find where that foul smell came from, and lo and behold, my hunch is really correct—it's really from them!
After ruining my morning, my sister's cats just lounge comfortably. Those nasty cats had really been testing my patience for the past few months. Their arrival was unexpected because our cat, Minggay, is a male cat, so there's no way he could birth kittens. The night my sister came with them was not a good encounter because my father doesn't like cats. That's why he was not really pleased. He's not really fond of cats, and the fact that he had Minggay thrown in the grassland when he was just a kitten just proves it. But our ginger cat was really something else, because, like I've mentioned in my previous blog about him, he came back, and that's when we persuaded our father not to throw it out.
As for the kittens that my sister brought that night, she really argued with my father about them. After the tedious negotiations and the shedding of crocodile tears, my sister was finally able to convince my father to let those kittens stay in our home—and that's when my little problem started. In their first months, they're not that problematic, but later on, as they gain strength, they slowly become a bother for me. Especially when they pooped. I hated it when they pooped wherever they wanted to. I really blamed my sister for that because she's the one who adopted them, but she hadn't potty-trained them fully. And now, they have slowly turned out to be a bother not only for me but also for other members of our family.
Anyway, as the months passed, we learned to adjust to their nasty behaviors. Thankfully, those two survived despite their unfortunate state before, and now they're thriving as if they never experienced those hard months. Now they're still doing their usual mischief, and like I said, just this morning I've been pestered by them. Chappy pooped under my bed—and being the Chappy that she is, she really pooped in the innermost part beneath my bed. I almost yelled in frustration as I covered the poop with ashes. I just covered it for now because it would be much more messy if I tried to clean it up. My bed was kinda attached to our floor, so moving it would be an impossible task.
My mood was kinda disrupted, but I couldn't just bring myself to hate them all day long, so yeah—after the unpleasant morning, I saw those two wandering around our backyard. There are a lot of caterpillars in our backyard, and those two naughty cats somehow find those caterpillars amusing. I'm not really fond of caterpillars; that's why I'm glad that they somehow reduced the number of caterpillars. When the sun is really up and they feel that it's already too hot for their usual sunbathing routine, they go inside. Luna immediately went over to my sister's bed, and there he comfortably slept. Chappy, on the other hand, was still not used to sleeping in her owner's bed, so she just lounged on our sofa.
Seeing them in their sleeping form was refreshing. Despite the fact that those two are really becoming naughty day by day, I still can't deny that they are really adorable. They might be naughty and feisty, but their endearing qualities really make up for it. It's really hard to resist their cuteness because—who can?
