I have something very interesting...
We're getting a cow!
Who would have thought!
Long ago we had decided that such a responsibility was not for us.
But then we met and befriended a family that has three cows! And everything is easy and relaxed, rhythmic and according to its own schedule, convenient for both the owner and the animal.
Recently we had to face the fact that, even living in the countryside, it's not so easy to find good milk at a good price.
So, we reconsidered our previous decision, and came to an agreement to get a cow.
Fortunately, two cows of our friends were expecting a calf and were due to give birth any day.
And then, the day before yesterday, we were sitting as guests at their place when the head of the family came in and invited us to come and see the newborn calf!
It turned out to be a girl!
Our girl!
Raising a calf from an early age is very good for building a relationship with her in the future!
We know her mother, Gavryusha, a kind and gentle cow.
By the way, this is her first calf.
We even know our heifer's grandmother - a big and calm cow named Aza.
We know their wonderful, rich, and creamy milk, so we can also count on delicious food.
All the favorable signs are before us! And in 10 days, we will have a cow!
I thought I still had a month to prepare, but it turns out, only 10 days!
We have chosen a place on the southern side of the farm buildings.
In the following posts, I will show how we created a home for our cow, Zorka, out of old veranda.
