Luna is adjusting just fine
Unlike some of the other siblings, she was lucky to find some kitten mates in her new home as we are still fostering Percy and Aki. I guess it's easier to make kitten friends than to find the big Mochi cat's approval this quickly. This big guy needs a few more days to get used to the tiny creatures running through his house. After all, he's the king of the castle.
From the moment Luna arrived, she's been playing with the other kittens, who of course had to get used to another play buddy for a bit as well. She slept on the ground in the playpen the first night because maybe she was a bit intimidated by the others sleeping on the pillow. We held her with us inside the living room until we went to bed to cuddle her a bit longer. She had a towel to sleep on though so it was all good.
A lot of freedom
Unlike the previous litter of kittens, the ones we have now have a lot more freedom since last week as we introduced them in the living room to get used to Mochi as well as vice versa. With Luna soon coming home, we figured it was best to let him get used to the tiny creatures a bit before her arrival. Luna's first morning here was quite funny because even though he didn't fancy Luna yet, he started to reach out to Percy to play instead of hissing at him. I knew that a few days' time was needed at least for him to get used to a new friend.
We let the bedroom door open and gave them the freedom to explore the living room more and I guess this was a good choice to let Aki find some relaxation as she has much more space to run now, giving her the option to relax a bit more afterward as well. She is slowly turning into a cat who loves to lay on our lap as well as snuggle up on the couch in the evening once she's done playing with the other kittens.
Lapcat Aki
So there's been improvement in all three kitties' behavior, Aki finds a bit more relaxation by having more space to play, her world was simply too small being in the bedroom alone. Percy has become a daredevil and often takes the lead while he came in as a very scared little kitten. He also knows how to relax and enjoy our cuddles, purring loudly. Did I mention he's looking prettier by the day?
Zen as can be, Percy being a happy little cat
Now that he's not as malnourished anymore and starts to catch up to being a happy little fella, his looks are improving so much and I seriously fall in love every time I see him running happily with his tail straight up. If we could, we'd keep him, he grew on all of us.
The lady of the house
Even though Aki was here first, she's not the lady of the house, that's Luna as she's staying with us. It's really cool to see how Aki is grooming both Percy and Luna so she's mothering them which is very sweet of her. Luna enjoys all the attention she gets, may it be from the other kitties or from one of us, she's all in for a good cuddle session. As soon as you pick her up, the little doll starts to purr and bumps her little head against ours. She's really content and I love how she instantly adjusted here to fit in with the other cats and us.
Luna on my daughter's lap while she's reading to her
Remember my daughter reading a book to Garbanzo from the first litter to practice her Spanish? Garbanzo laying on her lap calmly falling asleep right away? Well, it seems that Luna is indeed the closest personality to Garbanzo as here's proof she's the same. As long as she can snuggle up on one of us or in a blanket, she's very easy to satisfy and it's been confirmed every single day that she belongs with us. What a bundle of cuteness this lady is. I can't wait until she's catching up like Percy because she also has a few weeks of catching up to do while she was being hand fed.
Even though they're a bit too big to sleep in this small bed, they still snuggle up altogether, it's quite cute actually!
That's all for this week's update, next week I will share how the VET appointment went because they are going there for vaccination and chip. Thankfully, I could combine the appointment taking them all three at once. I hope everything will be smooth.
