I wish to write an article on poultry management.
Pre brooding activities:
Already existing pen house is prepared for new arrival of day old chicks(DOC).
*Materials needed for pre brooding;
Detergent for washing the floor of the pen house,
*Disinfectants: This are germ repelling substance that eradicate germs from manifesting on the surface of ground and materials,
*Wood shaving: This is a bedding for the chicks,also serve as heat traps or heater reserve for chicks,or a warm region that control moisture from affecting the foot pad of the chicks,
*paper spread; This is used in covering the Wood shaving for the first week,it create an artificial floor as feed particles will be served directly on it and supported by chicks feeders,
*Brooding devices; Electric Bulbs,or,Kerosene stoves, or Charcoal pots,or localpots or gas aluminum brooder,or electric heaters,
*Fumigation: It is important to fumigate the pen house before new arrival.
*Chicks arrival: Day old chicks (DOC),arrived after adequate provision has been made,
*Feed:Chicks mash is first introduced to the chicks, spread on paper before chicks is placed on the floor of brooder,
*Water for chicks: Good quality water,with Glucose D as stress control agent, plus multivitamin, plus antibiotics,
*Placement: Kindly settle the chicks on the floor were adequate room brooding temperature is supplied.
