After the Russian attack on our country, dark days began for ordinary people. They were forced to urgently leave their homes in the war zone and move to safer places.
Because most women, children, and the elderly were evacuated in a hurry, many were unable to pick up their pets. The best thing such people did was to let the animals out.
In our village, too, a lot of people left. We stayed put because I didn't see any options to evacuate with the helpless old mother. Carrying her under fire, traveling around the entire combat zone and thus ten times more time on the road, it was too risky for a mother with a sick heart.
So in such difficult times I had to take care of three neighbors' dogs and two cats. Although we have three cats and a dog. And it is simply impossible to get food while under occupation and without even having access to order online. A week after the blockade, we ran out of food. It is good that the neighbor left us the key to their houses, and I received a little help in the form of cereals. And began to cook for dogs, adding to it the remnants of dry food.
And they reached for the first humanitarian aid, which came almost on the day of the liberation of the village from occupation. Now I have a lot of food. And from today, another abandoned dog seemed to feel that we had food: she just followed us down the street and fearlessly went straight into the yard. We decided to keep her until her owners returned home. And Hank is happier, that's how they immediately became friends!
