They are definitely like children and in general, we don't know how much we can love them until we see their life in danger. We were at a friend's house last night when suddenly, upon returning home, I see that my dog starts to take a strange attitude of exorbitance. Those of us who know our pets, we know when they have something, want something and we can even know a lot more because of the connection you have for years. But, this time it was something different, I had never experienced something like this with Luna, I thought it was temporary or she wanted to go to the bathroom, so I took her to the garden before going up to the house and she managed to relieve herself, but it turned out that she was still strange, her look was lost, she was staggering as if she had drunk a bottle of alcohol and it was starting to scare me, in all this, not knowing what to do because the time was not helping me much, since it was 1:30 a.m. and any place at that time of the day was not the best time to go to the bathroom: 30 am and any place at that hour, is really expensive, but since time passed and I saw no improvement, I had to call an emergency clinic to have her checked and explain the strange attitude that Luna had. When we arrived they examined her and found her fine in every way; he explained to me that if it had been a poison that she ate, it was a reaction that could be seen after a few days, not immediately, she didn't have any kind of bite and we were both with a big question mark in our heads. He recommended an IV, as she would not eat or drink water, and we spent some time while he continued to examine her and everything seemed to be under control. Her heart rate was fine, her pupils were fine, but, she was out of it, she couldn't stand up, she was wobbling without balance and when you were going to pet her she would make a panic movement as if you were going to hit her. After the father-in-law had finished introducing her, she was a percent better and I came home just as anguished, but the vet told me that if she woke up today the same or worse, to take her back. I spent a very anxious night and thought that we definitely don't know how much we love until we see that loved one badly. This morning she woke up a little better and during the course of the day she was herself again and her personality returned, but I will never know what she bit or ate, it was a disturbing mystery without being able to know if she was in pain and what a frustration not to be able to communicate with her pet in these moments that are worth everything. Thank God he is much better now, but it was a big scare.
