Hello there my Hive mates. Hello everyone in this community. Its my first time to post a blog in here. I felt so excited as well as nervous because I don't know much about this platform just yet for I am new in here.
Reading some posts about this community, specifically about pets and see for myself how other users proudly shared their pets in here, it really got my interest since I have my own pet too. And finally decided to share my story about my pet, hoping that you, "the readers" will like it.
Meet my pet dog named, "Iking" but we mostly called "King."
He is an Aspin (Asong Pinoy) given to us by one of my papa's companion at his work. He is so dear to me, to my parents and we treat him as part of the family. And since I am only child, my mama even called him "Loloy" sometimes. ("Am I look like a dog to you Mama?") Funny, right? But regardless of that, I still enjoy listening to her while calling him like that. It feels like I have a baby brother tho.
Before this dog came to our house, I really have a trauma with dogs. Back when I was in my elementary years, I was being chased by a dog owned by our neighbors. Their children kept on saying to their dog, "Gukda na!" (Chase her) for how many times, and by that, their dog also follows. I am also afraid of its loud barks when I passed by and when the dog howls at night sometimes. A horrific vibe it is! Because of that incident, I can't go outside without a companion or when walking alone. My mama scolded the children who did that to me and helped me to calm down, as well as my papa. Though I find dogs adorable, but because of that trauma, I didn't tried to own one, not until this "Iking" came.
It was then last August 2021 when this pet received a warm welcome from us. My papa brought him and fed him with food. As what I have remembered, he kept hiding at the back of our fridge. Maybe he was just scared or wondering why he ended up being in another house. Lol.
At first, I was hesitant to touch him since I was really afraid if he will bark or bite me if had a chance to. But good thing my papa was there to help me out. Later on, I am able to adjust and learned how to take care of him. Alternately, my mama and I took him a bath. I even learned how to carry him too.
Iking is so Clingy. Everytime my papa came home from he waggled his tail and then do this thing;
Another thing I found funny about Iking is when he sleeps like this which I also found it rare to dogs but maybe just a hunch;
I find it weird but maybe he is comfortable with that kind of sleeping position. I sometimes heard him snore. (Laughing)
"When was the last time he made you worried?"
Well, its not just me but my parents as well. Imagine its been three days when he was not home. We really thought that someone kill him or worst thing, cook him and made him as "pulutanan" knowing that some of my neighbors eat dogs. ("Merciless people. Isn't it?") My mama didn't hold it out for long the reason that she ended up finding our dog. She found him and only to find out that he was staying at the house of his mate. "Aigoo!"
Iking is like a little brother to me and my buddy. He comforts me when I felt so down. Like he will come at me and he will raise his one leg like he wants to tap my shoulder. He is also like an alarm clock. He actually sleeps in the living room but most of time he sleeps outside the house. When its a new morning, he will keep on knocking at my doo the reason why I didn't have any other choice but to wake up then. Well, my mama actually told him to do so. They even laughed when Iking really followed what she says. He loves to play with our mat to the point that he ruined the mats that I just bought. He also loves to play outside and look at this photo;
He literally just did it when my mama shut the door because he was being scolded for coming home late at night. "Poor Iking. You can't go outside this time."
Iking is the reason why I overcome the trauma before. He is also the reason why I now loving dogs and even other animals. As a matter of fact, I am also taking care of the cats own by our neighbors. That is why in return, I will love and take care of him in every way I can. He deserves it!
Thank you for reading guys.
TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!
