Hoy vengo a comunicarles con gran alegría que ya logre hacerle la castración a mi querido felino Julián, y les voy a comentar como fue toda la experiencia y la angustia que pase hasta que finalmente lo traje a casa, mientras escribo aun sigo pendiente de el, pues sigue bajo los efectos de la anestesia y camina algo torpe, se tropieza y le obstaculiza el andar el collar isabelino que le colocaron en la veterinaria.

Today I come to tell you with great joy that I managed to castrate my beloved feline Julian, and I am going to tell you how was the whole experience and the anguish I went through until I finally brought him home, as I write I am still watching him, because he is still under the effects of anesthesia and walks a little clumsy, he stumbles and the Elizabethan collar that was placed at the vet's office hinders him to walk.
Este era un procedimiento que quería realizar a Julián desde hace un buen tiempo, pues han ocurrido algunos incidentes en los que llega a casa con heridas de peleas con otros gatos; rasguños y mordiscos e incluso he presenciado u oído una que otra pelea, es por eso que cuando compre algunas medicinas en una clínica veterinaria que esta cerca de casa pregunte por los detalles y el costo de la castración, pero no tenia el dinero al momento y la veterinaria me había recomendado terminar con el ciclo de desparacitación antes de llevarlo a la cirugía.
This was a procedure that I wanted to perform to Julian for a long time, because there have been some incidents in which he comes home with wounds from fights with other cats; scratches and bites and even I have witnessed or heard a fight or two, that's why when I bought some medicines in a veterinary clinic that is close to home I asked for details and the cost of castration, but I did not have the money at the time and the vet had recommended me to finish with the deworming cycle before taking him to surgery.
Pero esta semana realmente me decidí a hacerle la castración a Julián y me comunique con la veterinaria para programar su cita, lo hice el día lunes de esta semana y me la programaron para el día de hoy, me dijeron que tenia que darle comida hasta las 8 de la noche del día de ayer y que me asegurara que no consumiera o tomara nada hasta la hora de la operación. para lograr esto decidí encerrarlo en mi cuarto desde ayer a esa hora, pues mi Julián es un gato libre que puede salir de casa y no tenía forma de asegurarme que no comiera nada mientras estuviera fuera.
But this week I really decided to have Julian neutered and I contacted the vet to schedule his appointment, I did it on Monday of this week and they scheduled it for today, they told me that I had to give him food until 8 pm last night and to make sure that he did not eat or drink anything until the time of the operation. To achieve this I decided to lock him in my room since yesterday at that time, because my Julian is a free cat that can leave the house and I had no way to make sure that he did not eat anything while he was out.
La noche que lo mantuve encerrado fue difícil, tuve que conseguirle una caja de arena para tenerlo en el cuarto, aunque fue después que el hiciera sobre el piso, al ser un gato que sale a la calle suele hacer sus necesidades en la tierra al lado de la casa y no tome en cuenta esto antes de encerrarlo. solo me despertó un par de veces mas en la madrugada después de eso.
The night I kept him locked up was difficult, I had to get him a litter box to keep him in the room, although it was after he did it on the floor, being a cat that goes outside he usually does his needs on the ground next to the house and I did not take this into account before locking him up; he only woke me up a couple of times in the early morning after that.

Luego de colocarlo en el Kennel del consultorio fue hora de registrar nuestros datos en la historia clinica de la veterinaria
After placing him in the office kennel, it was time to record our data in the veterinary medical record.
Su cita estaba programada para las 9am, pero como somos responsables estuvimos 5 minutos antes en el consultorio, donde lo colocaron en un kennel y me dijeron que me avisarían cuando fuera hora de recogerlo, fui a hacer algunas compras y volví a casa, a recoger el desastre de la noche anterior, pero todo el tiempo estuve preocupada por su bienestar por saber si ya le habían practicado la castración, a las 2pm no aguante más la angustia y escribí yo antes para saber como estaba, a los pocos minutos me informaron que ya estaba despierto y que pasara por el.
His appointment was scheduled for 9am, but as we are responsible we were 5 minutes earlier at the office, where he was placed in a kennel and they told me they would let me know when it was time to pick him up, I went to do some shopping and returned home, to pick up the mess from the night before, But all the time I was worried about his well being to know if he had already been neutered, at 2pm I could not stand the anguish and I wrote before to know how he was, a few minutes later I was informed that he was awake and to pick him up.
Obviamente salí de inmediato, y lo encontré en un estado de semiinconsciencia en el kennel que lo había dejado antes, me mostraron las gónadas que le extrajeron y lo acostaron en la camilla de la sala, mientras le colocaban el collar isabelino que hicieron con una radiografía y aseguraron con una grapadora, me dieron un lugar para sentarme a su lado mientras escribían la receta, luego me dieron las instrucciones sobre como tratar la herida y como debía ser su alimentación e hidratación durante los siguientes días para una recuperación más eficiente, también me dieron las medicinas, las cuales por cierto pagué junto con la operación que tuvo un costo total de 30$, 25$ de la cirugía y otros 5$ de medicina.
Obviously I went out immediately, and found him in a state of semi-consciousness in the kennel where I had left him before, they showed me the gonads that they extracted and laid him on the stretcher in the room, while they placed the Elizabethan collar that they made with an x-ray and secured with a stapler, they gave me a place to sit next to him while they wrote the prescription, then they gave me instructions on how to treat the wound and how he should be fed and hydrated during the following days for a more efficient recovery, they also gave me the medicines, which by the way I paid along with the operation that had a total cost of 30$, 25$ for the surgery and another 5$ for the medicine.

Ya preparé su consomé de patas de pollo la cual fue una de la recomendaciones alimenticias de la veterinaria y solo resta hacer un suero de zanahoria para mantenerlo hidratado. Este ha sido un día muy agotador, pero yo me siento feliz y muy satisfecha del trato en la veterinaria y de tener a mi niño esterilizado, sano y salvo conmigo de nuevo, aunque aún este mareado y terco pues solo quiere dormir si es en mis piernas si lo acuesto en otra superficie de inmediato se levanta a caminar y tropezar con todo a su alrededor.
