Friends,
I think, along with me, you can still remember the Cyclone Amphan that we observed last year during May in Kolkata.
Oh my gosh, it was at the highest speed of 260kms/hr.
We never observed this type of cyclone long back after Tsunami in 2004. It was more devastating, but Amphan was also shown its character.
At the time of the tsunami, I was at the coastal belt of India and I have seen the effect of that.
In last year during the Amphan, I was at my residence as it was declared earlier that the massacre could have happened.
We were without drinking water, without electricity, no telephone connection, and waterlogging for more than six days.
I was thinking about how the permeative people were living when these amenities were not there, as we are accustomed to these facilities.
Just think about the villages and the rural areas where these are privileges.
I have taken some photographs of the situation happening during the Amphan from my window.
The trees were shaking, steels from the rooftop were dancing with the wind, electric polls were moving as if they were poll dancing. What a shocking situation.
The people who did not have shelters were striving to save themselves.
So many people died and so many were missing.
Now this year it is time for cyclone Yash. It will hit the Bay of Bengal from today night.
Again, nature is showing that how much powerful it can be. Humans are the toys in its hand.
Whatever may the progress the human race has done they can toy in the hand of Nature.
The authorities are claiming that this time they have taken full protection to save us from this natural calamity, that they have learned from the previous year what measures to be taken to save ourselves.
Today while evening strolling on my roof, I have also taken some photographs of the sky. Just see the color of the sky.
As if the sky is laughing at us looking into the preparation, we have taken to protect us from the cyclone Yash.
We have to wait for another two three days to see what effect nature does on us.
Maybe these are the sign and symptoms by the nature to tell us the wrong thing we are doing to it every day.
So, friends, please take care of nature.
