Friends,
Today I will share a few experiences of my life which make me understand the value of life and relation.
After completing my graduation in 1983, I tried several small jobs. I was a bit choosy about selecting my career. I never thought to do government jobs. I always wanted to go to the sales line. But every time, I was rejected as I passed out from Bengali medium and the address I mentioned in my biodata was a bit remote area at that time.
Then I used to give my uncle's house address, and they lived in proper Kolkata (Russell street).
After that, I called for an interview in Hyderabad. But I was sure that they wouldn't select me for the job. Because at that time my spoken English was not so good.
Then also, I visited for the interview because they were paying the travel allowance and food cost.
My plan was the money which my father gave me, will be spent for my interview travel allowance.
My father was not aware that the company would also provide me the allowance.
I planned to travel to Ajanta and Ellora with the money I will get from the company.
One relative was there in Hyderabad, and my father told me to stay at their home for a night.
I reached Hyderabad but was unable to find my relative's house. Because of that time phone booths were not available.
So, I reached the Hyderabad post office and asked for the address of the relative.
They guided me properly. When I reached, I saw that the family were going shopping in their car.
I told them about my intention to visit Hyderabad. My relative asked me which hotel I will stay at then they will drop me there.
I told them my father asked me to stay at their home. I saw the color of their faces changed within a second. They stopped talking with me. I adjusted myself for one night because the next day was my interview.
The reality was I went through that interview worst; because I need only the travel allowance to travel.
I was sure that the company wouldn't select me. So after the interview, I request them to pay my allowance. And I left my relative's house that day to visit Ajanta Ellora.
I will share that experience another day. Luckily I was selected for that job at a higher position.
After getting the job, again I visited that relative's house. This time I was welcomed by them very gladly.
This experience taught me that your money and power speak for a few people, but many others still believe in love and care.
