It won't be surprising to me one day if I come across an AI well dressed human walking on the road, because AI has really become part of humans everyday life.
A friend who is a manager in a bakery said that they relieved some of their staffs who worked in the oven section and replaced them with AI tools, now when those workers were at work, there was lots of mistakes in getting the exact quantity of flour, sugar and other ingredients but AI will get it exactly as it is programmed and the operator have cross check the tools before setting it up for work.
Yes the bakery is saving lots of money from the wages they would have to paid to the staffs that were relieved from their position and the company is actually making more profit, from what the manager said they just have to do some servicing on the tool just once every three months and the cost is not a quarter of the salary that was paid and the losses as a result of human mistakes.
Most companies have relieved most of their workers from their duty because they now have AI tools that can do the job better with little supervision and to the companies this is a very good way to increase income and efficiency.
One good thing is the fact that those machines understand human languages and can be easily programmed and automated for any job.
The last time I visited the hospital I was asked for just a little token to update my informations in the system, after the payment it was just a glance at the camera all my information came out and was forwarded to the doctor, after examination I was asked to run some medical tests, in less than 20mins that the scientist took a sample of my blood the result is out, I would have spent the whole day but I left the hospital in less than three hours.
AI is doing wonders but same time it is a great threat to our society, yes and sometimes I have the fear that there might be increase in crime in the society if people keep losing their jobs because of AI.
Increase laziness
The top employers will just come to work, set up the machines and set down doing nothing, this will encourage mental laziness.
Just look at what is happening because of chatgpt people find it difficult to think and create original contents, most people now depend chatgpt to help them think and mental laziness will not be of good contribution to the community.
The upcoming youths depends so much on AI tools during exam and this have made the society to have less critical and deep thinkers which is not a very good thing.
In essence AI tools are very important and has a very good effect in the society and it has made a lot of work very easy, but the reality is that AI is gradually encouraging mental laziness, there is need for humans to be mentally active to make a better future
