It’s funny how something can make so much sense on paper or in my mind but still feel so challenging to execute in real life. That’s honestly where I am right now with Hive/ecency. If you’ve ever sat down, done all the calculations, mapped out your growth, and then just didn’t follow through consistently, you’ll get exactly what I mean.
Going into 2026, I’m being a lot more honest with myself about my biggest issue on Hive/ecency is consistency. Not even strategy is my problem(even though im still learning there) or even the understanding how the platform works. Just showing up, over and over again is my problem.
I’ve already done the math as they as, I know what I need to post, how often, i know how curation works, and what kind of engagement I should be aiming for. On paper, hitting at least 1,000 Hive Power and pushing my reputation score past 60 is very achievable. Honestly, it’s not even that ambitious in the grand scheme of things. Plenty of people have done way more in less time.
But here’s the real problem, i.e. time. It’s not like I don’t have time at all. It’s that Hive requires intentional time, if not it wont be genuine and youd end up sounding like a bot or just generic. To read, and engage and to build relationships is what ive struggled with the most. I can write a post, but staying active beyond just posting? That’s where I tend to fall off cos i believe Hive isn’t one of those platforms where you can just drop content and disappear. If you do that, you’ll feel it almost immediately with the low engagement and little visibility.
There are days ofcourse that I put out something you genuinely like, something you put thought into, and it just doesn’t move. No real engagement and it’s easy to start questioning things at that point. “Is this even worth it?” but I’m starting to see that differently now. Its all about consistency.Period!!
So for 2026, my focus is going to be simple with regards to growth and that is to show up and be consistent!!. Even if it’s just a few minutes a day, reading a couple of posts, leaving thoughtful comments and speaking of investment, I genuinely don’t care about the current price of Hive right now. I know that might sound strange, but focusing too much on price is just a distraction at this stage. What matters more to me is growth.
