Although since childhood we used to be very excited about Diwali, our excitement gradually reduced because, see, when you are short of things, then you find that thing priceless or you crave for that thing, but as you get everything, then you are not that fond of all those things. Some people burst crackers with great fanfare and some people do not use them that much because some people say that we do not want to spread air pollution, that is why they do it, I don't know the reason, on whichever road you walk, only Indians celebrate with great fanfare and nowadays you must be seeing Diwali related posts on social media platforms if you belong to India or if any of your friends are from India.
Everyone has a different way of celebrating Diwali. Children are happy because they get to burst firecrackers, and some people are happy because they get to gamble. The game is played extensively during Diwali and is quite popular, and people participate enthusiastically. Women are particularly focused on understanding and engaging in this activity. Everyone has a different perspective on the festival, and they celebrate it accordingly. Nowadays, you'll notice that in many offices, a day or two before Diwali, a lot of decorations begin, and many other things happen. Where women work, you'll see such events, but nothing like this happens in our office at the moment, because only boys work here, so perhaps this kind of colour hasn't reached here yet.
I had a holiday, and now the office will reopen tomorrow. But Diwali is a rare occasion, as some of my close friends and I visit each other's homes and spend time together. We don't get such an opportunity often, as everyone is busy with their lifestyles. This day is incredibly precious to us. We had a lot of fun, and we burst firecrackers at everyone's homes. I just returned a short while ago. It was a great experience, and we all look forward to this time. We all get into our cars and go to each other's homes at night, which is really nice. We get to meet each other's families, learn about their well-being, and learn a lot more.
So, today was a great day for me, and I hope we'll continue to celebrate the festival with such fervour every year, celebrating it with such joy. The sound of firecrackers still fills the sky, and firecrackers are bursting everywhere. This will continue for a few more days. I also bought a few firecrackers, but since I have small children at home, I didn't buy any that make a lot of noise, as they pose a significant risk to small children.
