Years come and go, usually humans have dreams and aspirations we wish to achieve in the first, second, third or last quarter of the year. Some of these dreams are achieved while some are shifted for the future which may never come to pass or never be achieved.
Coping with the great loss I had from a Ponzi scheme I was involved in, the loss of my dear guardian( grandmother) and my mother in-laws sickness all in the year before I started this year with mixed feelings and an open mind but not without a goal.
Even though I had a heavy heart and fear in the beginning of this year, I was determined to stop nine to five jobs. Over the years I have always had an extra income hustle combined with my teaching job but I wanted to face business full time. Looking at the faces of my students who look forward to hearing what I will be teaching them before they write their o'level examination, that goal has to wait for now.
This year has given me the advantage to try something new. I have been able to go all out for people without expecting anything in return. In my sixteen years of marriage, I was able to house an extended family member who happens to be my mother in-laws dependent of course after my mother in-law passing. Though it is not convenient, I am glad I am helping in the very little way I could also teaching my children to co- habitat with people because we would not be there for them till eternity.
Also I was able to manage the yearly depression that creeps in during the long holiday period. This year by spending quality time on the new friend I found at the beginning of this year”hive”.
Yes I was onboarded at the beginning of this year and I made the best of the long vacation period to show up here as frequently as possible and that has helped to sharpen my creativity, my writing prowess have also developed a great deal because of this.
We learn every day so I can boldly say that my seaming game also increases a great deal all thanks to the motivation and timely encouragement I get from my neighbor who is also in the seaming business. Though I have not really spent much for myself or pampered myself much this year, I hope to do so during forthcoming holidays making the year one of the most memorable ones because we live only once and tomorrow I'd not promised.
