Good day everyone, welcome to my blog.
We make resolutions every year that we may end up not following up or putting into use. Oftentimes we forget about this resolution and continue our normal lifestyle a few days or weeks after the start of work.
Our reasons for abandoning our resolutions may be due to factors beyond our control. The above stated reason made me just live my life freely this year for the first time in a long time.
The stress of cooking and cleaning for the family during the new year triggered a kind of sickness that I was treating before the holy day and this made me bedridden for two days, getting out of bed today I could barely recognize the space I call kitchen in my home.
My children handled the kitchen and the entire affair of the home for just two days and everything was upside down. On that note, I made a resolution to be more intentional about teaching my children how to do house chores and do it well.
I mean I am taking the back seat now and watch them cook, clean and tidy up the house without or with little assistance. Don't get me wrong, they can cook and clean but not as I would want it to be done.
It's not going to be easy as I am intending to do this in a gentle and calm way but I am sure we will achieve our goals with the constituency. To start with, I have stopped cooking their meals already, the next is to allow them to use the washing machine without supervision. I need to prepare them for the real world because one of them will be graduating from high school and getting ready to go to university soon. If I don't teach them now, when will I ?
Moreso, I didn't want to raise boys that would not be able to help out around the house when they get married, I don't want to raise men who believe that home keeping is meant for women alone. Conclusively, I want to raise intentional and family oriented men.
