So we started by buying jewelry online, then we import it (either by ship or airplane) and sell it here in Nigeria. At first, it was very difficult for me to convince people to buy, but I had no choice but to learn. We were able to break even, and we realized that to make more gains, we need to increase the quantity, but we did not have enough capital. Now, this led to another brainstorming session with my friend, but we were both discouraged as we had little or no capital to start up.
After a while, I started hearing about forex and crypto trading. Although at that time, it sounded so complicated, it piqued my interest. I tried learning one or two and even tried some demo accounts, but I was unable to try with real money. I kept it at the back of my mind that once I start earning money (salary), I would set aside a particular amount of money for trading. During this wait period, YouTube was my go-to person, I would contactly watch a lot of trading videos and practice with a demo account to see what works for me.
I was finally able to try with real money, and I think I started with 20$. My favourite pair then was EUR/USD, and it was really interesting. I got to make money and lose money, but overall, I was losing more because there was alot of beginner mistakes I was making, such as having no idea about the NEWS that affects the market and so on. But to be sincere, the feeling you get when you trade with real money and a demo account is completely different. I was able to increase my account from 20$ to 150$ in a week, and I also lost the whole 150$ in a day.
Overall, trading was the closest I was to earning online, and my takeaway lesson is that I should never be overly reliant on it. I had to learn to control my emotions and know when to count my losses and leave. After this whole experience, I was not eager to look for a means to earn online until I met a friend who had introduced me to HIVE. At first, it sounded too good to be true until I started engaging myself. I have earned from writing, commenting, and even playing my favorite game (chess) through HIVE CHESS. The only downside to it is that you might be unable to estimate how much you would earn daily, weekly, or even monthly, but it’s the most convenient way to earn online for me, and it’s currently my favourite as I am doing what I love doing while also earning.
