Namaste everyone!
As far I know, there are three seasons which are wet(Rainy)season, this happens between April to August, while Dry(sunny)season, between September to March and Hammattan(cool and dry)season between, December and January. However, all seasons has its benefits to mankind and for that reason everyone has its favorite among all. So, in this contest, I will be sharing the reason behind my favourite season.
My favorite season is the dry season
I am someone who doesn't like stepping on wet ground or facing erosion on the road as most of our are not tiled. I don't like seeing my shoe stained or everywhere stained because of rain. Being constained to a spot is another reason I don't like rainy season, if I am self employed, I might not go to work for that period. I get pissed with so many things during wet season.

However, this my favorite season which is the dry season brings a sense of relief and comfort to people and mankind. The weather is warm and sunny, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking, picnics, and sports. You are Free to jump from one activity to another without being constrained to a particular spot. The dry season also coincides with the harmattan, a period of cool and dry winds that blow from the Sahara Desert, bringing a welcome respite from the heat.
While the rainy season has its benefits, such as replenishing water sources and nourishing crops, it also brings its fair share of misfortunes. In Nigeria, the rainy season often results in flooding, mishaps, and destruction of properties due to heavy rainfall. In fact, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), over 20,000 people have been displaced and thousands of homes destroyed due to flooding in 2022, even now in 2024.

The recent rain that fell about two weeks ago damaged and destroyed properties and lives were lost as a result of this. A full building roof in my school was removed as a result of heavy rainfall and some other bad things. Nobody prays for bad things to happen but rainfall comes with disappointment sometimes.
Rainy season might be a time for planting to some farmers but dry season is a great time also for agricultural activities like farming and harvesting, as the dry weather allows for easier access to farms and reduces the risk of crop damage. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the dry season is ideal for growing crops like maize, sorghum, and millet, which are staple crops in Nigeria.
Do you want to go for tourism and travel? Then, consider the dry season because it is a great time as the weather is conducive for sightseeing and outdoor activities. You can visit places like the Osun- Osogbo Sacred Grove, the Benin City Walls, and the Yankari Game Reserve and more. They tend to be more accessible during the dry season.
Everybody is to their opinion as regards seasons. While the rainy season has its benefits, I prefer the dry season for itscomfort, road conveniency, and opportunities for outdoor activities and many more
