The power of discipline and routine is guiding. Creating time for prayer, the power of prayer can never be underrated in this life. What is good deserves prayer, and what is bad also requires prayer, so prayer is my first dose; it acts like someone who's prescribed malaria medications, you have to take a full dose for your healing. Prayer keeps me going when everything tries to pull me away.
Another thing that keeps me going is purpose. I remind myself constantly of the dreams and goals I’ve set, the vision I have for my life, and the legacy I want to leave behind. Distractions will always come, but when I fix my eyes on the bigger picture, it becomes easier to ignore the noise around me. Also, self-growth helps me stay focused. Dose like out of distraction, and self-growth can never be undermined when everything tries to pull me away.
Reflection of my day-to-day activities keeps me away from distractions. Why won't I reflect if I don't want to be lost in this world full of distractions? Most importantly, I think about my “why.” My family, loved ones, and the people I hope to impact give me a reason to keep pushing, even when the road feels tough. They remind me that my journey is bigger than myself.
Lastly, my faith in God keeps me steady. Whenever life feels overwhelming, I hold on to the promises in His word. Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” This reminds me that no matter what happens, He is my protector and guide. With Him, I find peace and direction even when the world feels chaotic.
So, in a world full of distractions, what keeps me going is not perfection, but prayer, determination, reflection, purpose, self-growth, and faith; all these are my daily dose of focus in this life.
