A lot of people have different things they plan to do when they hit big. Some assume that they will always think big when money is not a problem again. But in my own situation, I always have another plan.
And in my case, I have always been a fan of peace and comfort, so the first thing I would do is to design and build a comfortable house that has the features I need in a place far from noise but not in the bush. A place where breezes blow freely and the evenings are quiet to the extent of hearing the birds sing. I think I am adapted to a quiet and serene environment, so too much movement or too much noise gets me distracted.
I will also put my money to very good use by investing it into something that will always give me long term return, which is constant without stressing me much. I will do that because of my peace of mind and not because I want to flaunt the money. The type of investment where I will not be calculating my next day's expenses all the time because I go to bed.
And I will also invest deeply in my family because as a guy, I will love to take care of certain responsibilities that need to be taken care of. Still not to impress anyone, but as my duty and to take away some unnecessary pressures around.
But the truth of the matter now is that what I truly want is time. I mean time to myself to think things through without rushing, time to learn without pressure, and time to sit alone sometimes without disturbance or guilt.
While I was growing up, the majority of the people were taught to always go after the bag—the money—because it will fix everything, but now that I have experienced life, I have seen something very different because money might remove struggle and all that, but what I do with the quiet it creates matters more. So personally, I don't want a noisy life. I just want a normal life where I can afford the things I need all day long.
