Here you go,
The book clearly describes the happiness advantages in one's life and the central idea of this book is that happiness is not solely a result of success. Instead, it is a predictor and driver of success because our brains perform batter when we are positive and happy which ultimately makes us more productive, resilient, and motivated.
In this book, the author draws heavily from the field of positive psychology. The positive psychology promoting positive emotions and focuses on understanding, well-being, and strengths, rather than solely addressing psychological disorders.
The author introduces the concept of the Tetris Effect. According to this effect, our brains get stuck in patterns based on what we continually focus on. It means our brain could become more adept and stressed if we continuously focus on stressful or negative thoughts. On the other hand, if we focus on positive thoughts and gratitude, we can train our brains to be more positive.
The author beautifully describes the metaphor of the Fulcrum and the Lever in this book. The Fulcrum is our mindset and the Lever is our behaviour. It means if we shift our mindset to a positive one, we can leverage it to change our behaviour. This way one can lead to improved outcomes in various aspects of life.
