I have actually had the chance to convince some people to start their Hive journey, and honestly, I will just be talking about how I personally went about it with them.
So basically, one of the people I convinced was a friend I met during my I.T programme. At first, he did not really know much about Hive, so I knew I had to explain it in a way that would actually interest him instead of just forcing it on him. The first thing I did was show him the community and how everything operates on the platform. I made sure he explored different interfaces because one thing about Hive is that there are many ways to access the ecosystem, and that alone makes it very interesting.
I could remember showing him how people make posts and interact with each other. He was actually surprised at how active the communities were. What made it even easier for me was the fact that he was an artiste and he was really good at drawing. So I literally just told him that Hive was a platform where he could post his artwork and people would genuinely appreciate it. I explained to him that there are communities filled with people who love art and creativity, so his work would not just go unnoticed.
I also told him that apart from appreciation, it was also an opportunity for him to grow and connect with people who share similar interests. I think that was what really caught his attention. After spending some time exploring the platform, he actually liked how the ecosystem was built and became more interested in joining.
Another person I tried convincing was my sister . To be very honest, convincing her was not easy at all. She was very adamant in the beginning, and it actually took me a long time before I could finally convince her to join the platform. Most times, when I mentioned Hive to her, she would just act uninterested or feel like it was probably stressful or not worth her time.
But then, I would not even lie,the thing that eventually convinced her was when I assured her that she could make a few money from it while doing things she already enjoyed doing. I explained to her that Hive is not just about posting randomly but about sharing your skills, ideas, and experiences with other people. Since she enjoys things like cooking and simple DIY activities, I told her those were things she could easily post about on the platform.
Eventually, I helped her open an account and showed her around the platform little by little. Surprisingly, after she started exploring it herself, she became more comfortable with it. She even participated in quite a lot of activities, like posting cooking tips and DIY projects. Seeing her gradually enjoy the experience honestly made me happy because it showed that sometimes people just need a little encouragement and proper guidance before they become open to something new.
So, for me, I think the best way to convince someone to start their Hive journey is by showing them how the platform can relate to their personal interests and skills. Once people see how they can express themselves, connect with others, and even earn something small from their effort, they become more willing to give it a try.
Thanks for reading.
